We like going to the dollar store here. The streets seem pretty sketchy especially at night. People will hang out on the sidewalks smoking, speaking loudly and cussing. More than once we've seen police need to get involved with unruly individuals.

I appreciate the proactive measures city officials and other community activist have taken to ensure it remains a clean and safe place for families to enjoy.

It's gotten a little less sketchy since theyv gotten the security guards but still very uncomfortable bring my kids to Ray's or the dollar tress after or near dark.. it feels creepy.

Has everything, I believe. Hotel, Gas, Grocery, Cheap Shopping Store, Muliple Restaurants, Buffet, Nail shop, Dispensary, Smoke Shop, e5c. I REALLY DO T THINK THERE IS ANYTHING YOU COULDNT FIND IN A JIF THERE. ITS AWESOME 👌 👏

Overall selection is ok , prices at many spots is outrageous without real reason other than pure greed . Round table orders same toppings as dominos through same company and pizza prices are 35+ vs 9$ ?!?!?! Ripoff Rays charges double or triple on items found at dollar tree and security is asking to get companies brought to court according to lawyers who regularly shop there . Oriental Buffet still great 10+ years after going there , price is high but I eat like 7 plates of food so I actually win on that one haha 🤣

Overall it's a decent road side stop area off highway , the crazies and homeless are in area mostly because they were pushed away from plaza by Apd and city of Arcata and they stay in the area because their dealers live in area indoors.

This part of town is where Arcata has allowed the homeless to gather and this shopping area is ground zero. Camping, yelling, tripping people and the stores are powerless to do anything. Arcata is very sad in that regard. It's government is largely incompetent

The laundromat just closed down and there are a few vacant storefronts because the rents are outrageous here. There's a Ray's food place, a $1.25 plus store, a dispensary, Subway, Harbor Freight, Round Table Pizza, Carl's Jr. , check cashing/cash advance, mail salon, mideastern restaurant, peppers restaurant, a dojo, Mexican restaurant, smoke shop, and McDonald's across the street. Hotels within walking distance. Freeway access and 2 gas stations. Liquor store and a bank, China buffet, and tractor supply within one block. Several local coffee drive thru's as well. Veterinarian down the street as well as a tire shop, Napa Auto parts, Humboldt fasteners, mini storage, country store, glass house, and a few other businesses right there. Across the highway within one mile is a 24 hour restaurant "Toni's", the Ramada inn and a trailer park and plant nursery, also the Hospital and fire department and the Tribal office and Pacific union elementary school.

We really love shopping here because it is conveniently located near motels and the highway. Everything you need is here from fast food, dining, grocery, household items (Dollar Tree), etc. It's our go to spot when we are in town.

The area could use some cleaning and security due to certain passerbys that hang around and leave a mess or trying to get the attention of shoppers who don't want to be bothered.
