What truly sets this place apart is the amazing assistant manager, Jennifer. She genuinely cares about the community and goes above and beyond to make meaningful connections with the tenants. It’s clear that she’s passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

*In response to the property reply, I did say the a/c was working, but it was with the help of our window units we purchased.
As far the noise, a new gang of thugs has moved in. I emailed the property manager on March 29 for guidance and she has yet to reply.
I mostly work nights, so email in my best option.
The new maintenance team has been great and we appreciate them. *

We have tried so hard to enjoy our time here, but it seems like a losing battle.
Our a/c went out in May. We reached out with countless emails. Maintenance kept telling us that there wasn't a problem. I finally emailed corporate and got an outside party to come out. They acknowledged that our unit needed repairs. We bought our own window units during the heatwave because our apartment was 90°. To this day, the air conditioning doesn't work.
Noise: Omg, where to begin. Since March 2023, there is a vehicle that plays music so loud that it vibrates our unit. I've shown videos to the office, he drives by the office with his nonsense, I've emailed corporate, but this guy still wakes us up everyday. I'm assuming that the office is showing favoritism to him because he is breaking the rules of the lease .
Speeding: cars FLY through the parking lot with no regard for kids or walkers. No speed bumps to deter the speed.
The security gates have been broken for 2 years now...
The pool was closed all summer.
If you're looking for quiet, security, peace of mind, please pass this place by.
Emails will be ignored, corporate will do very little, you'll never have peace, lots of yelling and fighting in the parking lot.
There are police cars parked here, but I've yet to see them enforce any rules. Maybe they're just here for some type of discount.
There's dog poop EVERYWHERE. It never gets cleaned up.
There's trash service , but they only pick up 60% of the time, even though we pay for it. Yet, the office threatens residents if there is any trash outside their apartment.
Fortunately, our time here will end soon.
Please be wary of the high ratings. Stop by after dark and see this place for the third world place it is and not "luxury " living it advertises.

This is the absolute best complex I have lived in w/stellar staff and maintenance team!!! Highly recommend!!!
I was not able to post a new review for some reason, so I will tag it here! SHOUT OUTS to Ms Sunny and Desmond for an EXCELLENT job replacing my appliance! Super professional and time management was certainly appreciated! This team makes it worth living here! The best I’ve seen yet!

Monica is always so helpful and she makes sure that things get done efficiently!! I’ve been living here for 7 months and as soon as I contact her, she’s on it! Her, in addition to the office staff, do whatever they can to make sure that everything is in order. Honorable mention, as well, to maintenance! They do what needs to be done and makes sure that everything is done right! A great team works here— this is the place to stay!

I moved into The Heights today, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice! I was in search of a new apartment so close to my move-out date from another location. I wasn’t sure if I was going to find one in time. However, after a friend had recommended this place, I was not only able to move-in almost immediately, but Monica, the property manager, was able to address my concerns and make me feel at ease.

From the moment I walked into the apartment, I was impressed by the pristine condition and thoughtful design of the apartment. Everything was spotless, and it freshly cleaned and nice smelling. Nothing was out of the ordinary. I was surprised to be greeted with a welcome basket. It was totally unexpected but the thought was so lovely. Thank you Monica for making me feel at home. I feel so welcomed.

Overall, my experience at The Heights at Lake Murray has been exceptional. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and inviting place to call home!

Walk the apartments before signing a lease!
Notice that the highest reviews are also "new" accounts. Be aware- ensure you view the unit they will give you BEFORE signing- I lost 800 dollars because I "broke" the lease before the date it started.

TL;DR. Signed lease, paid deposits. Office was difficult to reach after signing. "Broke" lease before it began (10/9/2024) as I had low confidence in reaching office if needed, and had not yet toured the apartment. lost deposit, expensive lesson learned.

10/8/24 update: spoke with the office, overall feeling weary of the agreement. Originally were unable to let me view it today, as they forgot there was an engagement the office needed to attend, and cleanup was still occurring but offered to leave it unlocked in the afternoon after questioning.

With the contact challenges and struggle of viewing the actual unit, I asked to be released. They were completely understanding. Understood that my deposit was forfeited and all fees were gone.

Just awaiting confirmation of the verbal interaction as the lease starts 10/9/24.

Hi! So I’ve lived at the heights for four years and a lot has changed since i first moved in. My lease is up so I will not be renewing. Quite frankly it’s expensive for the space and no upgrades.
I’ve had my issues with management and neighbors and the over all community here in the past.
But i have to mention Monica Willis Peterson at the front office. She is the community manager. We have been emailing about some things and I have to say she has been wonderful. She’s quick to answer back and is so helpful. I can tell already that she is going to make change for the better in the heights. Everyone else that has worked in there clearly didn’t care about the residents. They were often rude.
I feel like any resident can go to Monica and she will help you and be kind. I appreciate her! And i wish her the best here in the heights
