We spent 2 months in a SCVR rental in Hermosa Beach this spring. We were able to tour the house last fall prior to rental as it was not being rented. We appreciated that as some rentals are not as advertised. It was as expected when we arrived and it was clean. There were a few items that were not as expected (lack of hand towels and wash clothes). The property manager took care of them right away, sending replacements. We also contacted them for a maintenance issue during that time and it was addressed on the next weekday. We had clear instructions on how to close the house out and received our security deposit back within 7 days. I would rent from them again. They have a nice set of properties. Their website is easy to navigate and the pricing and fees are clear on the site.

A word of caution: Read the lease carefully to make sure you understand their terms. This is not VRBO or Airbnb, where most rental reservations can be cancelled with a full refund. Once you're in, you're pretty much in for it. The security deposits are fairly steep also and you pay up front. Think of this as more of an apartment lease than an online vacation rental.

We had a great experience with Sunny California Furnished Rentals! We had an unplanned issue and needed to vacate our home and SCFR worked with us to get into a rental that met our needs quickly. When we still could not return home yet by the time the original rental was booked by someone else, they worked with us again to get into another of their rentals as seamlessly as possible. I recently rented a property on Loma Drive in Hermosa Beach for two months. Robert and Indy were so helpful. I had a small issue upon arrival and they fixed in within hours.
A week into my stay, I dropped by their office on Pier Ave. Very good people and very organized. I will use them again on my next extended vacation.

Really disappointing experience from beginning to end. Stayed for 1 month in December 2021. It started poor and got worse. First of all had to chase staff on day of arrival for check in details as our property manager forgot to send despite me reminding three times in advance that week. This was particularly frustrating given we had a toddler with us. Property itself was fine, there were a number of issues (TVs didn’t work, dishwasher didn’t work fully, previous tenants stuff still there) but was willing to overlook.

Real problems came when leaving the property. Contract states that security deposit will be returned in 14 days, it took 25 to get mine. Again this was despite multiple chasers well in advance of the deadline. When the security deposit finally arrived numerous expenses had been subtracted that I had not been consulted on. Among those a $125 fee for a garage remote that we never took receipt of (no inventory list on arrival). Furthermore we were charged $89 because we moved one of the beds to be landscape facing so that we could fit our baby’s crib in (again no mention of this cost in the contract) and lastly we were charged $40 paint touch up fees which is laughable given we were there for 1 month. When I tried to contact the company about wanting to discuss these subtractions I was met at first with no response and then an unwillingness to discuss stating “it was already done so nothing you can do about it”. Incredibly rude and frustrating experience.

All in all not worth the hassle, would recommend to go with a more professional service. Also expect some sort of rebuttal from the company to this review but I have every conversation on text so if anyone would like more proof before making their decision do let me know and happy to publish.

As a longtime local to Hermosa Beach I highly recommend Sunny California Vacation Rentals. The small and intimate staff working there for Robert’s business are absolutely wonderful, and they always have their doors open on Pier Avenue - welcoming and making relationships with everyone who walks by. I’ve had the pleasure of touring some of their homes and they are just the cream of the crop for rentals here in the South Bay. I personally have recommended them to friends visiting from out of state and they have had nothing but great experiences.
