Absolutely love this company! Since they have taken over managing the home I'm currently renting things are moving so smoothly and quickly if I mention any type of concern. They actually care about their renters. Tan is the most amazing property manager I've ever encountered. I don't feel like my privacy is being invaded with them when work needs to be done inside my home because everything is scheduled around my availability. I am so pleased my experience thus far.

I advise you not to rent from sovereign they seem to be the ideal management company in the beginning but in reality they are slumlords! The property I lived at 2797 Cherry Laurel Lane was owned by Atlanta neighborhood development. I froze in the winter time and suffered from heat exhaustion in the summer. They really didn’t refuse repairs but their maintenance guy is horrible! He has no idea what he’s doing I had a kitchen cabinet fall from the wall twice nearly hitting myself and my grand daughter breaking several items upon falling. Make sure the doors are secure rats come in through the back door and not to mention! The office staff can be pretty rude and uncaring! After three years they decided to not renew my lease due to the fact that I called code enforcement because I wasn’t getting a resolution to the HVAC issue. And the kitchen floor had a huge soft spot. I even reached out to Atlanta urban development for help! But instead they terminated my lease and said the owner wanted to do something else with the property. Well the something else was to rent it out again! I promise if you rent that property you will regret it.

I would like to say THANK YOU to Ms. Tanya (Property Manager). Her customer service is phenomenal. She addressed a service request that’s been open since June. Please be advised that all request aren’t opened that long, she just wanted to make sure she found the perfect company that would address my concerns, and make the right repairs. When she visited the property, she asked me to give her a chance, and she would keep me updated. Let’s say she did exactly what she said she would do. You rarely find a property manager that follow up with a tenant, they rely on when the vendor says “This has been completed”. After the vendor left on yesterday, she texted to ask how did things go? I really appreciate the follow ups and her sweet bubbly personality. Again,

Honestly, it’s been a long road moving back to GA. Sylvia has literally made my transition so simple and so easy. She was informative, kind and most importantly ON POINT. I’ve been in my new place for over 30 days and any request and any question I have gets answered PROMPTLY AND appropriately. My Experience After a Year at an SRM Property

After a year at one of SRM’s properties, I feel compelled to share an honest update.

When I first moved in, my experience started on a high note thanks to Sylvia. She was kind, professional, and incredibly helpful when I needed to find a place quickly. But suddenly, she was no longer with SRM, and from that moment, everything went downhill.

The office staff became rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in empathy or basic customer service—especially Jenny. She has repeatedly spoken over me, ignored my concerns, and even recently laughed at me when I simply asked her to let me finish speaking.

Beyond the poor treatment, I’ve had to go back and forth multiple times over incorrect charges and unclear fees—like a $200 move-in and move-out fee. What even is that? When I moved in, I was told the property was “as-is,” so I accepted the flaws and did my best to make it a home. I won’t even get into the neighborhood—it is what you’d expect from the west side of ATL. But at the very least, I expected professionalism and respect.

I paid my rent. I paid every fee they charged. I communicated constantly. I did my best to maintain an already deteriorating property. And when I tried to transfer to a bigger, nicer SRM property, I was misled. I was told no one had been approved yet, only to find out a week later that someone else had moved in. That was my breaking point.

I genuinely respected what SRM claimed to stand for — supporting the community and helping renters become homeowners. I wanted to eventually buy a home through them. But the blatant unprofessionalism and lack of care completely changed my mind and perspective on the company.

I’m relieved my lease is over. And while I’m still dealing with unnecessary back-and-forth over bogus fees, I just want this chapter to be closed so I can move forward.

SRM, do better. Your tenants deserve more than this. & My hope is that SRM leadership reads this and chooses to hold their staff accountable — because no one deserves to be treated this way, especially when they’re doing their part as a tenant. The community deserves better.

If I could give 100 stars I would… My company relocated one of our employees from Miami to GA…. He was able to find the perfect home in a great location which was fully “turn key” clean and ready for move in.. the staff was AMAZING!! Helpful, kind, patient and had prompt responses… Sovereign Realty is definitely one of the best real estate & management firms in ATL!!
