After searching online and talking with a couple people. Solano Mortgage was recommended by a realtor my inlaws used. I emailed Jim Porter and got a fast response back. They were very accommodating with times to meet, my schedule isn't the easiest to work with. His daughter Lisa Porter was super helpful with guiding me and answering all my questions. Jim was able to work a couple different loan options that I could compare. BUT, Sara was our shining star. Sara lined out exactly what we needed, answered our text and calls, no matter the time. Working with Solano Mortgage was an easy, fast, and pleasant experience. From the introductory and data-gathering Zoom call with Lisa Porter, to the question-and-answer Zoom call with Jim Porter, to the educational conversations with Sara Blanton, everything felt pretty smooth from start to finish. The team was always very friendly and willing to accommodate us even later in the day after my wife and I had both gotten off work. We felt so unknowledgeable and uncertain about most aspects of the homebuying process, but Solano Mortgage consistently exuded confidence and understanding; they proved more than willing to explain and re-explain things to us, and they helped us become more confident in our ability to find and afford a home. It was also comforting that everyone on the team was down-to-earth. There was not a hint of pretentiousness or a sense that they were looking down on us in any way. From the very beginning, it felt like they were working alongside us to reach mutual goals. Our realtor even said they they were "pretty much paying out of pocket" to get us a competitive interest rate. My wife and I believe that Solano Mortgage really went above and beyond to help us!

There were a couple of issues along the way, but that was on the side of Rocket Mortgage, for whom Solano Mortgage was acting as a kind of broker or middleman. Our realtor had set several deadlines for the removal of contingencies, and a couple of them were missed by one day because of delays by Rocket Mortgage. This is no reflection on Solano Mortgage, but it did add a bit of extra anxiety along the way.

We love Solano Mortgage and are so happy that we decided to work with them and not anyone else. When it is time to refinance, I am confident that we will go directly to them for assistance!
