My husband and I lived here about 1yr and a half. The office staff was so welcoming during our stay here. We got to experience so many beautiful renovations. Security is so important to us, thankfully in our time here we never had any issues and I never felt unsafe. The property is always clean and kept up. Even though we aren’t pet owners ourselves, this is a pet friendly environment. Our neighbors pets were always friendly and well behaved. The maintenance staff is also amazing, friendly and helpful. Due to my husband’s work transfer we had to leave this community. I encourage future residents to visit Sofi Beryessa, you won’t be disappointed. I’m confident to say that Sonia and her team will do everything in their power to ensure that your stay here is enjoyable. Thank you Sofi Berryessa!

11/2/23 Update:
It has now been 9 months since I’ve moved here and I’m still just as enamored as when I first moved in, arguably more so in fact. Since my last update, there’s been more improvements! All the doors have been repainted, lamps along walking paths have been installed, a dog park has been constructed, and a new barbeque/outdoor fire pit area was introduced (not sure if the rec room is new or was always there, but I just recently found it and it is awesome). Currently, they’ve been working on power washing and repainting all the car ports and it looks beautiful! Since I’ve pretty much fully transitioned to working from home (save for the occasional company office visit), I need my environment to be comfortable for living and working. I can therefore fully appreciate how nice this neighborhood is. During breaks from work, I will go for a jog or a swim, walk around and sit on benches enjoying the sun, or feed one of the many cute strays that frequent the community. In a way, it feels like a resort! Maybe the next time I update, they will have an arcade, a massage parlor, and a theater lol

7/20/23 Update:
After being here for half a year, this property continues to wow me. They are putting in every effort to constantly improve the apartments. Currently, they're going around replacing the dated black framing on every balcony and window. While it is therefore pretty noisy in the daytime, I think that's a minor complaint when you recognize that Sofi is not taking your rent for granted and reflecting it back in the quality of your environment. For example, the flowers are in bloom right now and I feel so happy every time I come home. There's a lot of greenery and it feels like I'm stepping into a garden every time I return. I also use the amenities quite often. I frequent the gym every day, and for a while the pool too.
However, I wish pool etiquette was more tightly enforced, as well as access. Often times I'll see people (not sure if they live here) try to open the locks or wait for someone to do so, and once they get in, invite all their friends to join. What irks me is that they don't wear proper swimsuit attire. Jumping in without a rinse in their shirts, jeans, and underwear... probably is a bit unsanitary.

First Post:
After days of scouring listings, I found a very hopeful prospect in Sofi Berryessa. Pictures of properties often look good, but it was the reviews on the property manager that drew me in. I saw many rave reviews mentioning "Michael" consistently over the years, so that motivated me to give Sofi Berryessa an appointment right away.
I was not disappointed! He is the most amiable manager I have ever met and our interactions were lively from start to finish during the appointment. I was shown two new apartments, one fully renovated and the other in process. The renovated one was gorgeous but I prefer more sunlight so I opted to wait an extra week for the other to finish.
A week later, I moved in without a hitch and so far (being here for a week at the time of writing) I am loving my new apartment. The gated community looks very safe and people seem to quietly go about their own. The newly renovated apartment is very comfortable and "feels" new, not just in the sense of a fresh coat of paint, but also in terms of cabinetry/appliances...etc.
Anyhow, I'll update this review later on after a couple months being here, but so far... this has been a dream. Definitely my favorite property out of 8 over the last 15 years (I've moved a lot).

Stay away from applying to this apartments, and looking elsewhere. The pricing on their website is a scam and please do not get fooled. They increased the pricing for a 1B unit from $2,471 to $2,757, within a WEEK, and their leasing manager revoked the $2,396 discount they originally offered during our in-person tour. This is not common as I also had toured 10+ apartments in San Jose area and never saw such large fluctuations on the pricing, and the un-profession and lack of transparency their leasing team demonstrated to me. I would definitely NOT recommend to anyone else.

I had an unpleasant experience applying for a 1 Bedroom unit in this apartment. They increased their price every day!

I started noticing this apartment as it is located nearby and I drove past it everyday. At the beginning I did not want to consider this place due to its neighborhood. Plenty of homeless trucks parked nearby on the street and there is one camp close to Berryessa VTA station rumored to be built for the shelter of local homeless. This place definitely does not let you feel safe.

The main reason I started considering this place is their price is still competitive if ignoring the neighborhood. However, it clearly proves I was wrong as they increased their prices EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Here is the breakdown of the price change of one 1B unit I was interested in,

- $2,401, Sunday 11/17 night, when I booked the appointment for a guided tour
- $2,471, Monday 11/18 morning, during my tour appointment
- $2,511, Tuesday 11/19 morning, when I started the application (I immediately sent emails asking the price difference)
- $2,541, Wednesday 11/20, while I still wait on the replies of my questions and they increased the price AGAIN!

I truly understand the rent price is dynamic but HELL not every single day!

I highly recommend looking elsewhere, and not be fooled by such POOR marketing pricing strategies to scare people away…

I just moved to Sofi Berryessa couple of months back and have really been enjoying our stay so far. The property is really beautiful and well maintained. Also the community has a gym and is walking distance to the bart station.

Michael was really helpful and informative and he is always happy to help. Looking forward to creating beautiful memories here 🙂

Sofi Berryessa has exceeded all of my expectations. It’s clean, quiet, and beautiful! The staff is amazing too! Sonia, Leo, Angel, and Daniel are very kind and helpful! Would recommend this place to anyone!

I have lived in Sofi Berryessa for more than 4 years. I would need to move out because I am relocating to the other state. Sonia and Michael (who has left recently) are so responsive to my emails and requests. They are so kind to me. Whether I told Sonia about my transfer or move-out, she was always so flexible with my requests, considerate and so prompt to help me out. The maintenance people Angel and Daniel are professional and quick to fix things. The apartment itself is kind of old, but they keep improving it by renovating the units and adding more facilities. The location is so convenient and close to everything. I enjoy living here and would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Lived here 2yrs and loved everything about it. Apartments were clean, new appliances, plenty of sunlight, great amenities, and just a quiet gated community at an affordable price. If work brings me back to this area, I will definitely move back to SoFi. Michael and his staff are also incredibly personable and always addressed concerns within the same hour. I will honestly miss this management team and wish my new team was as courteous and honest.

I’ve lived here for about 1 1/2 years now and it’s still a great complex to live in. The grounds are kept clean , people are respectful and quiet , no loud parties at night keeping people up, but most importantly, the thing that makes Sofi Berryessa great to live at is the people who work here . Sonia the property manager is so nice and super reasonable when there is any issue that needs to be approved for repairs or replacements , and she’s always got a smile. Michael , the assistant property manager is the nicest man and every single time I’ve seen him, he will go above and beyond to answer any and all questions and is on top of anything you ask him. And the maintenance guy, Daniel , is one of the most Knowledgeable and kind people I’ve ever met. He knows about everything and anything when it comes to fixing things , repairs , painting , appliances , mold , shower caddies . Literally , anytime I asked him a question about something In the apartment , he had an answer and he was very detail oriented . He checked his work every time and made sure everything was done right , and was super patient in explaining what had to be done and why. And overall, maintenance was on top of work orders. Sadly , both Daniel and Michael both left
to other jobs within one week of each other and their presence will be greatly missed. But Sonia is here and she is awesome !! I would highly recommend living in this complex as the rates are affordable as well with the market comparisons . I can’t think of anything bad to say , other than maybe the parking for guests gets a bit difficult at night past 6 pm, but there is parking on the street and you likely won’t have anyone having to walk more than a block away if you have guests.
