It was a pleasure to work with Scott Davis of Cross Country Mortgage. He and his rehab loan team saved my last deal for me and my client. We had just opened escrow when we discovered the property my client was set on buying had mold and it also needed a new foundation, among other serious habitability issues. My client's preapproved loan from a major mortgage company was not going to finance a home with those types of serious defects. Scott had a rehab loan product that allowed us to roll the costs of the repairs right into the conventional mortgage. We closed in just 5 weeks! After the escrow closed, the contractor and his subs started the work which was inspected and paid for directly by the lender. It was such a smooth process and I really hope to be able to do more deals with Scott. He and his team made me look good, both to my buyer and to the seller as well who had tried to sell this rental property several times previously, but could not because of the habitability issues. Scott has worked with my broker for over twenty years and now, after working with him closely, I can see why. His integrity, knowledge, and straight forward style makes it an easy choice to work with Scott.
