I like my apartment okay, but Scott Properties has the worse correspondence. And it's been that way since late last year. Our dryer hasn't been properly fixed for months and tenants are responsible for the maintenance of it and has called more than 5 times for someone to fix it. At some point wouldn't it make more sense to replace it entirely?

Also people working in the apartment below triggered our gas valve twice, with no notification beforehand and several units did not have gas for a few days!

I know there are tenants here who receive subsidized housing but that's not a reason to treat them or us like crap.

Worst management and maintenance of any apartment building I’ve ever heard of. I’ve been without hot water since February 14, 2024. It’s now May 20, 2024 they keep coming and saying that it’s working and it’s not. I’ve gotten a $2000 power bill because of the faulty water heater two years ago. I have had black mold because they refuse to fix the broken kitchen sink and I’ve had the worst neighbors that physically tried to assault me and the management company did nothing Ifyou’re thinking of renting an apartment managed by Scott Properties think again and run for your life Because they will destroy your life if you Choose to live in one of their building.

I had a very disappointing experience with this management team. After reaching out to confirm availability, I was directed to email their staff for showing instructions. Their team responded with a lockbox code and clear instructions to access the property. However, when I arrived—following their exact directions—there was no lockbox at the specified location.

Worse, I was met with an accusatory message from a representative asking, “Who told you to go without our showing agents?” despite the fact that their own team gave me the access code. This kind of internal miscommunication is frustrating enough, but being spoken to with that tone after following instructions precisely was unnecessary and unprofessional.

Due to the confusion and how the situation was handled, my tenant decided not to proceed with viewing the property. Respectful communication and consistent procedures are a baseline expectation, especially when working with licensed agents.

i recently moved out of their 2415 federal ave apartment in west LA after being a tenant there for 3 years. I honestly couldn't say anything bad about this company, and especially the building owner, Kellie. The tenant portal is super convenient and easy to use to pay rent and for maintenance requests. We also got a reply about a request within one day and the problem was solved almost immediately. They always sent us proper notice when something was happening on the property and they would have to come by. We substituted a tenant after the second year and it was super easy to work with them editing the lease agreement. The move out process was easy and we got basically our whole security deposit back other than a cleaning fee which we were told would happen so we didn't bother paying for one beforehand. I can't speak to other properties but from my experience, these other reviews do not accurately reflect the company and I truly felt lucky with the management we got because i know it's not always the case.

Had a few people tell me some experiences about the maintenance staff. Heard they brought their political views to work. Definitely not cool. Heard it was also gossipy and useless. It sounds like the maintenance department needs an overhaul.

Shocking! building employees are sending thieves to the tenants apartments to steal tenants jewelry, computers, purses etc... and others valuables(thieves were caught in camera!) and company management denies to provide security! Policy was contacted and will now investigate the crime! Cars have been vandalized and stolen,Not acceptable! They don't care!!! All tenants are living in fear!!! what a nightmare!

If you’re considering moving to one of Scott Properties' buildings, I would advise you to think twice. While we genuinely LOVE our neighborhood and have wonderful neighbors, our experience with the property management has been disappointing.

One of the most glaring issues is the lack of communication. We've encountered broken promises repeatedly, which has led to a feeling of neglect. For instance, our washing machine has been a constant source of frustration; the last time it broke, it took almost two months for them to get it fixed. In urgent situations, such as when we faced a smoke/fire hazard, the response was disheartening. When we called for assistance, we were simply told to submit a work order online, with no immediate help offered.

Moreover, the management team has in the past entered all of the apartments unannounced, and claimed notices had been posted but "blew away in the wind" which is doubtful for 10+ units.

Although Scott himself seems kind and I believe genuinely wants to assist, the support team surrounding him has been consistently disappointing.

Horrible Move-In Experience at 10750 Palms Blvd

I had a terrible experience moving into 10750 Palms Blvd. The apartment was not cleaned, had a horrible smell, and required major repairs. Despite bringing these issues to management and the owner's attention, they refused to take responsibility or make the necessary repairs. I had to call the Los Angeles housing board inspector just to get some of the repairs done. For the amount of rent I’m paying, I expected an apartment in impeccable condition. I would not recommend this place to anyone—beware before signing a lease here.
