SCBRS has been my property manager for over 5 years now and the peace of mind this company gives me is invaluable. I trust their expertise, accountability and responsiveness. I have a couple of properties around town and I rely on them more as a partner rather than just a property management company. I know my investments are safe and managed properly allowing me to focus on other tasks. I would highly recommend Brian and his team to anyone thinking of renting their property.

I've worked with Brian for about 7 years, he's managed two rental properties for us and I can't say enough good things about his professionalism and responsiveness. I would highly recommend him if you have rental property that you need help managing. He's does a great job of finding good tenants and he is very engaged and responsive. In the recent Columbia floods, my property was severely damaged and Brian was a big help in dealing with that tragedy. Highly recommend SCBRS!

If I could give this company a lower rating I would. I will never rent from them again. When I moved in the fridge needed a new door handle and when I put in a maintenance request for it, the guy never came, so in the end I had a broken handle for the next 18 months. The ac unit kept shutting off randomly and it never stayed at a reasonable temp. It always adjusted itself to 89F. When I moved out they took out a double payment even though I told them I was moving. I cleaned the whole house and I replaced all of the door locks and deadbolts to make the house safer. And the guy argued with me to give back my security deposit because they had to replace the Ac unit filter and some prints on a wall. After a whole month I still didn't get all of my security deposit back and I would have to hunt them down to even get someone on the phone. This is the worse company to rent from and I would advise anyone to not rent from them.

I was a tenant of SCBRS for 3yrs. Was never late not one time with my rent for the 3yrs I was in the home. Was told the home would be painted and the roof would be done when I was checking out the house. That never took place.

Upon moving out at the end of October of 2019. Was to receive my $700 deposit back. Only received $399 back. Was told that the carpet needed to be professionally cleaned instead of my doing it myself. After 3yrs the carpet needed to be replaced. I placed a brand new deadbolt on the door once I moved out and was charged for that as well.

I have had nothing but trouble from the head of the property management company from the moment I first moved in. Everyone else at the company, has been wonderful.

I have never experienced anything like this before and it was just wrong.

So beware.

Where to start with SCBRS? I rented from a very nice landlord for a few years before they turned over their properties to SCBRS. We were notified of this by a letter left under our door mat. We had already signed a renewed lease with the landlord and were always given flexibility with our due date since we only get paid once a month. SCBRS changed all of that. Any issues we had with the house they never responded. Our water heater busted one day and they didn't even have an emergency line to contact so the kitchen flooded, we called a plumber and they fixed the issue. When we asked for a credit, you would have thought we asked for a years worth of free rent. Brian was incredibly rude to my wife on multiple occasions and even after his office manager told us we would be refunded for the cost of the water heater repair, he rudely and aggressively told my wife that was wrong and it wouldn't happen and we would only get a minor credit on our rent. They tried to coerce us into signing a months long lease even though we had made clear we were trying to buy a home and preferred month to month. Mind you, we never made a late rent payment with the landlord or SCBRS, but the professionalism of this company is sorely lacking and I truly do not know how others have had such "good" experiences. Now a mutual friend of ours is having issues with them with mold in their rental property and being told to spray dry wall with bleach to make it go away. News flash, once mold is in dry wall its there and the only solution is to replace the dry wall. So just remember SCBRS doesn't really care about the health or safety of its tenets nor the value of the properties they claim to "manage." I would recommend staying far away from this company and keeping contact with Brian in particular limited if you must deal with them as he has a good way of denigrating tenets, particularly female tenets. Based on the responses to other negative reviews I am sure Brian and his team will have something to dispute this account, but fortunately I still have email correspondence on file showing otherwise.

With our continous moves, Brian's team made sure we found the perfect home for my family and ready to move in Columbia, SC. I highly recommend this company for anyone searching for a property in SC or anyone who needs to rent their property. They take care of the occupants and owners.
