I have been staying at your property Sandpiper apts since August 2022. My experience was great until I discovered I had mold growing in my apartment. I went back and forth with property management Doug Moe about coming to repaint the restroom as well as treat the mold that was growing in there. He would often send maintenance to wipe down the walls instead of gutting the restroom to find the underlying issue. This resulted in multiple of my clothes, bathroom towels, and bathroom rugs being bleached. I expressed these concerns to Doug and he was very rude and condescending going back and forth with me about me wanting a new apartment with the same lease terms. After getting sick multiple times and sending multiple emails, Doug Moe finally agreed in March 2024 to move my apartment due to the mold coming back multiple times. I thought the moving process would be smooth because I was just moving a couple of doors down. The day I was set to move into my new unit Doug Moe tried to get me to extend my lease, I had to reapply to the complex, and provide all of my information. He did not notify me that all of this would have to be done in order for me to move until 1hr before I was set to move into my new place. This ultimately ended up costing me more money due to me having to hire movers. Once my mother spoke with Doug, he agreed to keep me on the same lease terms that I was on which ended in August 2024. I moved into my other apartment and though it was not up to par, I needed a place to stay. I am a nurse who works with children so I can not be surrounded by any type of mold or toxins, or I risk the chance of the kids getting sick.

Fast forward to August 2024. I received no communications regarding my move out. Prior to the end of August I paid my rent on time which was $862 (including the service fee). On August 28th 2024, I received a phone call from the leasing agent that leased my apartment in 2022 LaKenia Washington. She answered the phone and said "Hi we have in our records that you were set to move out August 27th and am wondering if you turned your keys in yet". I told her that I was finishing up move out today (Aug 28th). She notified me that I would be charged an extra day. I reminded her that I paid my full months of rent so I shouldn't owe anything due to my rent not properly being prorated. While I was talking she kept cutting me off and was very curt with me. Still very polite, I told her that I would be there to turn in the keys before the office closed at 5pm. I continued to pack my apartment and made it to the office around 2:30. After explaining that my rent was not prorated and that the complex would owe me for 3 days, her energy was still very off putting as it was on the phone, she agreed and I gave her my forwarding address.

*I forgot to add that the paint in my tub was also peeling and mold was under that as well* which is what initiated the move. I could not soak in my tub. I requested to get it repainted and I was given the runaround*

Update: Doug called on August 29th leaving voicemail saying I was trying to "put him down". I called twice, emailed and he did not return my call.

Been living here for over a year now still haven't had a working dishwasher. Had a new one installed and it broke took them two months to realize the electrical was wired wrong and kept frying the dishwasher.
Was told this apartment was burnt in a kitchen fire then remodeled but still paying full price for not the best work. Was told so much was going to get fixed the month before I moved in but nothing got fixed only wiped down.
They have a system that emails you everyday about your service requests you've made I've been getting these emails for over a months straight because they haven't fixed them. Would move out if I could but they only notify you of your lease ending within the 60 days your supposed to notify them.
So sorry if your a busy person who wants an apartment for ease of living because when you get home you'll have to wash all the dishes because your contractual dishwasher doesn't work. You'll have to close up the doors with towels to prevent air and bugs coming and going. Pray you don't get a fire because we haven't had our fire alarm by our bedroom installed in over 2 months because they won't install it.
This is all about management as far as maintenance workers and staff they are great just havnt had any luck with getting my value that I pay for this place.
Also gotta love the randomly generated prices for the new lease. They just run the numbers through a software to figure out how much they can inflate the rent without losing so many renters.

My biggest issue is not being informed when whatever maintenance is doing affects my personal things. For example, my refrigerator was replaced on yesterday. All of MY food was removed and replaced without my knowledge and things were moved around in my apartment. I don't appreciate my personal things being disturbed without my knowledge and/or presence. Not to mention, some of my perishable items did not make it back into the freezer. I would appreciate being informed when these type things are occurring so that I can arrange to be present and move my personal things as I see fit.

Tried calling a handful of times, left a message, and even showed up trying to tour apartments. How do you acquire an apartment here? Genuinely curious.

Almost 2 years have passed and we are still happy here. Are they a new modern apt? No they are not. And that’s ok. They are more sound proof and twice the space. Maintenance has been quick to fix anything that we needed done. We treat it like a home and not an apartment.
