First off, totally my fault for not reading all the reviews, and seeing that this trail is very very short. I walked it twice in 24min total. It took me longer to drive to the trail than it did to walk it.

The trail is overgrown in a lot of places, and some of the bridges are looking pretty worn. It is a shame that this trail is named after somebody and it is not being taken care of. It could look so much better.

It is ok I suppose for a very quick walk, but I personally would not bring young kids. The overgrowth and falling apart bridges are a concern.

What a disgusting park. It looks like a place methheads and homeless would hang out. Not stroller or kid friendly at all. Cigarettes all over the ground.

Tires in the stream. Sketchy types roaming about. Fallen trees and large limbs covering the path. We didn't even stay here 15 minutes.

I WILL NOT be back. This place all together has a bad vibe. If you do go here bring a gun or something else to protect yourself with. This place doesn't seem safe at all.

One of the wooden bridges is not safe looking to walk on at all. One of the steps is half broken. Some of it needs to be torn out before someone gets hurt. The trail was very short, but it was still nice to see and to be out doors.

Grabbed some food at McDonald's just a couple of minutes away, and I came here to eat. Very cool little spot, and trail. Ate in the shade, walked the trail, and since I had my fishing pole, cast the line a few times. Hidden gem for this area, but I wouldn't travel here just for it as the trail was pretty short.

The Robert Simpson Nature Trail is an absolutely beautiful area, however, over the years it has not been taken care of to a great degree. Debris(as in fallen tree/limbs) litter the walking path and the brush is growing large in part out of control which prohibits being able to complete the entire trail. The wooden bridges and railing are showing signs of age and rot as well as the seating and swing set. Please help to bring this genera are back to a better state, it is definitely worth it.

Up until the larger picnic area under the cabana, I would say it's safe for 5-6+ y/o kids as long as supervised. Be prepared to carry any child younger. There are knots on the ground from beginning to end that will roll your ankle if not careful. Wear. Decent. Shoes. Otherwise, it's a decent little trail to hike!

Very beautiful BUT BE VERY CAREFUL walking over the bridges. Some of the wood is broken and rotted.. bit you can't always tell. I stepped on a piece of the bridge that looked perfectly fine and FELL THROUGH!! Busted my leg up so bad that i was put in cast and on crutches.
