We closed on a Meritage home in a different subdivision on 12/30/21. We had 2 pages, single spaced, of items that need to be resolved. The builder agreed all of those items were not resolved, and that they would resolve them. After almost 9 months here, quite a few of those items are still unresolved.

As of typing this, our last 7 attempts to contact the builder have gone unanswered. We do not know when these items will ever be resolved.

Our case is not unique. All of the neighbors I've met, which are quite a few, had long lists which took extensive effort on their part to get resolved. Many, like us, still have unresolved items after extremely long waits. These are not Covid related supply issues. Homes they've recently sold had electricians, painters, etc. there working on them. Meritage could have sent those contractors to us instead to finish our issues, but didn't.

Several of our neighbors have had substantial issues with their homes, even worse than ours. Because of Meritage, I would not recommend buying here if you have any other alternatives.
