What a wonderful Alpaca experience! My family of four were ear to ear smiles following our visit. We got to meet more than a dozen gorgeous alpacas - who all had different and fun hair dos and coat colors - and the farms’ two enormous mules as well. One member of our family is a special needs elder with ambulatory issues and the setting was safe and gentle, as well as super interesting for all in attendance. Renee was very knowledgeable and an excellent host. We had fun learning each of alpacas’ names, ages, and their relations to other in the herd. So many sweet photos from this epic day. Do not miss! Go soon before word gets out on this secret oasis.

R2 Hillside is a great little ranch. We had a great time with the Alpacas. Quiet and peaceful. It is a great activity for the kids and adults. We get to feed them pine needles and pet them. Renee is a great host: she is friendly, respectful, responded to all questions politely and sweetly. She is pretty engaging, and offers to take pics and videos if you’d like that!🦙

We had a lovely time meeting these gentle alpacas and learning about them. The alpacas make funny humming sounds, so adorable. We also got to meet the ranch's guard dogs, sweetest dogs ever, and a most rambunctious puppy. A must visit for animal lovers and crafters who use yarn! Renee is knowledgeable and answers our questions. There are also two donkeys at the ranch. We highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

We had an amazing time visiting R2 Hillside Ranch! My wife and I brought our two young daughters, and it was such a memorable experience for all of us. Renee and Rich, the owners, were incredibly friendly and hospitable, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our girls were absolutely delighted to pet and feed the alpacas (they loved giving them pine needles!). It was such a unique and hands-on experience that kept them engaged and excited. Getting to meet the ranch's three dogs and two mules was an added bonus — the animals were gentle and sweet, making the visit even more special. We would highly recommend this wonderful experience to anyone, whether you have children or not. The warm atmosphere, beautiful setting, and charming animals make R2 Hillside Ranch a hidden gem. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Thank you the wonderful experience hanging out with the fluffy herd of Alpacas!

Instead of looking at alpacas behind a fence, you get the chance to spend time with a herd of alpacas on the farm. Feed them, pet them, and just generally spend a peaceful afternoon. Renee is a kind and thoughtful host. The setting is beautiful. Overall very fun, and somewhat therapeutic. I would definitely visit again and I consider this a much better experience than offered anywhere else in Northern California.

I visited R2 Hillside Ranch last weekend with my boyfriend for my 30th birthday. I wanted to be around animals and this was the perfect experience! The owners are so open and you can tell that sharing this experience with the public brings them joy. The owner had a smile on her face the whole time. The alpacas are so friendly. Feeding them and petting them is hilarious and sweet! We also got to feed the two mules on the property. It was such a fun and educational experience. She brought out her sheep dogs too, which made my day. For such a low price, you get so much close-up time with these animals. Highly recommend!

This was such a fun experience! This was a gift for my boyfriend, but really it ended up being a gift for myself!
There were so many more alpacas than I expected, in addition to some rescue mules.
The owners are so kind, friendly and answer and and all questions. She even goes out of her way to take photos of everyone's group which was so appreciated. I would come back every weekend if I could haha. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to do something unique and special.
