We went to the Fall Festival to check out the pumpkins and other festivities. Needless to say there was so much to do and see we didn’t get to everything! Our kids had a great time running from activity to activity as well as riding on the tractor “train ride” and bouncing on the big blow ups to going in the maze and completing the obstacle courses. We will definitely come back again next year! There was also an assortment of food booths and other booths selling things. Lots of fun and worth the drive in my opinion.

What a great place! We love that they grow fresh food which is hard to find in Alaska. The Fall Festival is Fantastic especially if you have little kids.

Lots of activities for kids, but parking is ridiculous! We had to walk from halfway out in the muddy field even though there were closer spots open! Lots of other vendors, so make you have money or a card. Cash only for admission tickets or pay online with extra fees!

We had a good time here. I will return next year because there aren’t loads of events on offer in Alaska. The farm festival was fine, typical, kids had fun. The big issues were some of the rides and activities were damaged. My 3 year old daughter actually cut her wrist on the metal frame playing a basketball game. Not good. The little bunnies for the bunny race game did not work which was a disappointment to my son who waited all day to play. The lines for everything were long and the hamburger/fries food truck girl was so rude, but the cooks on the truck seemed to be aware of her attitude and tried to be nice. The food trucks also started to shut down almost 45min before the farm closed. The highlight of the day was the pig getting out of the pen and running around. Could be better.

Update:
After a public review was left the owner reached out and requested contact.
We talked out a safety plan for repairs that we both agreed to and they issued a public apology for the injuries caused because of the setup, etc.

Summary of the original post:
Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm had a poor set up for their new "roller bowler" game.

Bowling balls were easily come up off the table when the game was used correctly. With no bumpers or walls like supposed to have- they roll off the table and cause injury. (I have heard from several others that they got hurt or almost hurt from wayward bowling balls)

I ended up in the urgent care Friday getting X-rays to see if my hand was broken after a bowling ball easily rolled off the game and side of the table.

And thankfully it was just my hand, I smacked the bowling ball mid air because it was about to land on a toddlers head that was there. (Mama instincts- and it wasn't even my child!)
It was just inches away from crushing a babies skull!

My big concern was the massive amounts of people using it on the fall festival days and unfortunately there wasn't much time to repeatedly contact them about the issue. (I wish I could have waited and tried more calls or emails to be heard but there wasn't time.)

My goal was never to ruin this farm, I have been a long time fan, introduced many friends to pyrahs, spent at least $1,000 over the last few years and have loved them before this incident.

When I was injured, I had no doubt they would do the right thing. But the initial response was unexpected and upsetting and with less than 12hrs until a major event happening there I felt I should warn the public the best I could.
The posts were made middle of the night because I was loosing sleep stressing over the thought of someone else getting hurt, and they could have been worded better.

I am glad that the safety issues are getting resolved and plan to be a returning customer.

Picking taters and carrots. My boys loved it. We went with my older boy's preschool. They read a story about plants, then got a hay ride to the fields. There were carrots,tater (blue and gold), lettuces, peas, kale, rhubarb and more. We had fun.

Horrible! I was there for today’s event! $10 to enter when some people were entering for FREE! Some passed along the strip bands to other people to even enter. BATHROOMS HAD LINES! Why! Only 7 bathrooms for 800+ people! Ran out of toilet paper and HAND WASHERS! PLEASE INVEST IN THE BATHROOMS!
Pumpkins looks bad I could buy a better one at CARRS! Animals cages are so bad it looks like they are mistreated! Most of the “things to do” they have listen on the website are not even there at the event..…0 stars!
