I have not worked directly with them, but my wife and I just moved into one of their 2023 builds ("Cambridge" plan) after the first owners lived there for only a year. We love the floorplan and the attention to detail. As someone who works in construction and has an eye for details that many would overlook, I have to say that their workmanship is much better than what you'll get from today's large tract builders. There were only a couple of very minor things that came up in the inspection... our realtor said it was one of the best inspection reports that she had seen in years.

Let me start off with first that I fought with myself for a while on whether or not to post this review. I typically try and see the best in all companies I deal with, and I really hate to be negative so I will start off with the positives. The overall house we purchased was beautiful. Great design and layout, and the purchase process with them was super simple. Unfortunately for us this is where it stopped. We moved in April of ‘21, and at first we had no issues. Not long after this we noticed water stains under our bathtub that looked to be coming from our shower. We called them to come out, and they determined our bathtub was leaking. They had a crew come out and fix it so great.

Fast forward some time later, and we were noticing black on the baseboard near our shower as well as discoloring on our wall by the walk-in shower door. At this time we removed the baseboard from this area as well as the Sheetrock in the area with the discoloration to find a soaking wet sill plate and as well wet studs. We called them again which at this time they stated this was outside of the timeframe, but they would look at it because of the previous issue. The owner’s brother came out with his GC, and they put the blame basically on us that we had “standing water coming from the shower and puddling in this spot for two years” as well as arguing with us when we stated that we never have standing water there. Their reasoning behind the discoloration was credited to missing weather stripping and too large of a cap between the shower door and wall. They had someone “fix” this problem as well. They sent us a copy of the buyers manual with reference for us on how to maintain our shower as the other part of their solution.

Two months later, the we notice water staining and discoloration in the same spot. At this point I brought out three different shower and tile guys to get their opinions, and all three stated this shower was leaking either due manufacturer’s defects in materials or installer’s error. At this point I contacted the owner and after mentioning going the route of legal after I have my people remove tile, he stated they would send their people out once again along with a rep from the system (Kerdi) to take a look at it. After they removed a few tiles, it was immediately seen that the system was installed incorrectly causing rot and water damage. At this point, the brother of the owner popped up and said that he had a plan and basically left. The system was replaced, by the same crew who apparently installed it to begin with, and their measurements were off which led to the glass not fitting. We contacted the brother and let him know which his response was he was trying to get it taken care of quickly because he was trying to go out of town. We apologize that our issue that was caused by your company was an inconvenience to you and your vacation. We had the inconvenience of four people using one shower during this time in our children’s bathroom.

This system seems to have been installed correctly at this time as we haven’t seen any problems yet. The company wouldn’t know this as since the repair was made, the only person who has checked in with us was the glass guy. It is a shame, because they really did create a beautiful home.

Jacob and Josh went above and beyond to help us with our new build. They were efficient and thorough in making sure all our needs were met after a slight freak incident with the plumbing. They made sure to “make it right,” and we couldn’t be more happy with how they handled the situation. More than anything, they stand behind their quality product and that speaks volumes!!

Words cant describe how happy we are with the purchase of our Prime Design home. When we were searching for our new home we knew we wanted only Prime Design. We got all the amenities of a brand new home without the hassle of dealing with builders. The whole team was awesome and easy to work with. Any issues or concerns that arose before and after closing were handled with urgency. Thank yall again for everything.
