Although I am not a current tenant of Powerhouse Property Management company, I was looking to lease one of their properties. I completed the application and paid my app fees. At the time, I didn't realize that our pup was on their dog breed restriction list and would have caused an immediate denial. The representative contacted me to explain their process is to review apps before just running your credit. So they informed me a refund would be issued because they hadn't ran my credit. What I appreciate was the transparency and honestly. They could've simply kept the app fee and put another inquiry on my credit. But instead, they offered to refund me. As we know, application fees are typically non-refundable. However this property management company wanted to be fair. While I wish I could have been a tenant at one of their properties, this clearly shows how they conduct business.

We rented a beautiful home through PowerHouse Property Management. Any concerns were handled promptly and thoroughly. I would like to also offer a special thanks to Richard Burton, for offering advice for cold weather prep— since we are originally from NY— as well as always being responsive and helpful whenever we needed! Great experience all around. This is not a property manager that serves only the large corporations— they are owner and resident focused, and make sure you feel at home.

I wish I could give a raving review however, working with Richard is like working with molasses. Richard is hard to get a hold of. Slow to respond. Leaves a listing on available when multiple applications are in process. So he makes a multitude on applications and there is only one “winner.” Other rental companies will remove a listing when an application is submitted, so he just like to collect $74 per person per application. The application process itself is a joke. It continuously tells you it’s incomplete after completing it and will ask you to pay an additional $74. You can leave numerous voicemails with Richard, and he will not follow up. There’s a good chance his homes are a scam. As a house was listed available since January 2 yet remains vacant. Just to collect application fees. Beware!

Since applying to one of these rental homes, we have received contact scam phone calls and text messages. AND NOW WE HAVE HAD A $1200 FRAUDULENT PURCHASE ON OUR CREDIT CARD! Richard Burton is a crook!
