Please do not rent with PMI Knoxville/Leslie Schuller. I’ve attached photo evidence as to why, including emails. We moved out of 5371 Calvert Lane on July 10th, and received our security deposit the last week of August after much going back and forth with Leslie, especially over the matter of wear and tear (see photos emailed from Leslie after move out). Before moving out, Leslie emailed us a two-page cleaning checklist, which I think is excessive. Some other things worth mentioning: we had a move-in service charge of $200 and we had to pay a non-negotiable $25/month resident benefit package, which I think was nickel and diming us. Applications fees were $75 per person. I wish we didn’t have to rent, but my husband is in the Air Force and ordered to move every two years. We were living without a house close to two months and desperate trying to find a place to settle in Knoxville; otherwise we would have rented with a different property manager/landlord if a house was available. Please don’t be desperate like we were and look elsewhere. Do not rent with PMI Knoxville.

(By the way the photo of the ceiling fan was emailed to us because the color temperature is wrong even though it’s the same bulbs when we moved in, so $10 out of our deposit! Sorry I didn’t scrub the bottom of the dishwasher, that’s $75! It was difficult plugging in my phone charger into the wall outlet, so that’s $50 to replace, even though it’s cheaper to buy a wall outlet at Lowe’s! Man! I wish the furniture hadn’t brushed the walls because that’s $275 out of our pockets!)

Leslie, you may mail $410 — the rest of our security deposit. By the way, congrats on being on the cover of Knoxville Homeowner. How much did that cost you? $800-900?

This place is a scam and just wants your money. Me and my husband were looking for a house in Knoxville from out of state. We called multiple times and they said no one had applied for the house we wanted. They said apply and you will get probably get it. Three times we called and the guy answering the phone told us this. So we paid the $95 and applied. The next day I get an email from Leslie saying they had multiple people apply and they were not even gonna run my application because too many people applied. But I didn’t get my money back or anything. I responded to the email and got no response.

I’ve been renting through PMI since august 2021 & it’s been a great experience. This is the only rental I’ve ever truly enjoyed & they make it easy. Pest control is consistent so no critters, maintenance is super fast with any problem, plenty of notice if they need into a unit. Highly recommend trusting PMI with your housing needs.
