When they were servicing my mortgage they were excellent, and then I listed my house for sale and they started calling me 1-2 times per day with the same script, I told them I'm not buying a new home right now, and they kept calling. Now I never want to do business with them again.

Outstanding people skills … could not believe my experience. I’d had great past experiences with Penny Mac but not today. I’ve messaged Penny Mac, posted on LinkedIn just amazing how we have missed opportunities to wow customers, we would rather say - you’re not worth it. Here is what I sent in to Penny Mac Message Center after being on hold for 30min waiting to get a bit more help. We got Douglas. Douglas was extremely combative on the phone when I called to find out why my mortgage was MIA. We unknowingly missed a payment. PAID the last 4 yrs same date of the month & paid above the minimum to pay down the principal. My assumption was it was paid as I have for 4 yrs, we thought our bank sent the payment. I called to find out details - received with aggression so asked for a Supervisor- asked for his Supervisor but Douglas said he was the only person he answered too. Unreal. I’m ready to move my biz elsewhere. I’m not saying this to be posting, I’m recommending everyone to find another mortgage company wow! To tell someone who missed 1 payment… and pull the call, he was not informed until we explained the scenario and then he was unbelievably rude. So I was rude back. I will find another place to spend my money. Do better Penny Mac. You will hear my wife was polite but even that seemed to be no help. Do better Penny Mac.

Got my bill after it was already due this month (post office error?) and then got an email reminder the day after the grace period ended. Charged a late fee after over 3 years of no late payments they won’t even wave the late fee once for a simple mistake. I know it’s always due the same time, but with countless bills and due dates, I really rely on those bills and reminders that are pretty standard with companies. Online system is horrible to navigate. Phone system is even worse. Not who my mortgage started with, and I would never choose nor recommend pennymac to anyone else.

I’ve been with the company for one year and a couple months and never missed a late payment. I didn’t have a problem with them until I joined the military. This is when the company turned there backs, and refused to lift a one time late payment on my record while I was serving and had no way to communicate with my realtor of a honest error she made. PENNYMAC responds was very rude, and they had no compassion about the situation. The late payment that they refuse to lift also cost me my once perfect score to go into the fair category . The lack of sympathy, transparency and understanding for those who serve is not a company I would recommend nor will I continue to contribute into.

Pennymac - not my mortgage originator, but rather who my mortgage was bundled and sold to three years ago, has been a consistent nightmare. Up to and including denying my prospective purchaser - another veteran who was set to assume my loan - from doing so 12 days out from closing The reason given was "credit history is too short" but the VERY FIRST THING Pennymac did 73 DAYS AGO was pull his credit. My family is literally scattered across 3 states and my pending purchase is now sunk because of the abject lack of professionalism, transparency and honesty from this fly by night POS company. DO NOT USE!

The experience that I had with PennyMac was incredible. They were prompt and communicative. They got back with me as expeditiously as possible and all my questions were answered. I definitely recommend them and I look forward to keeping them as my lender. Wouldn't go anywhere else. 5 Stars.

Pennymac is one of the most pathetic Mortgage service providers I have come across. My loan was transferred to Pennymac by my original lender (I had no say in it). If its possible I would not allow them to service my loan and transfer it to someone else. Their customer services reps and supervisors are highly incompetent and provided different information each time I called in, adding to my frustration every time. They are only good at taking payments at first opportunity but declining the service thereafter. Amazingly, every time I was told that the representative or supervisor I talked to, in my previous discussion gave me wrong information and they are giving correct procedure to follow. Next time I call again, they happily repeat the same sentence apologizing. I wish I had the option of choosing who services my loan. Best part is I have to live with them, unless I refinance the loan again which does not look like a possibility with current rates. There is no way to give zero stars.

Five Stars from start to finish! Everyone I worked with at Pennymac was knowledgeable, informative, and patient. Everything was unbelievably easy to navigate and when I did have questions, I never had to backtrack. Every person I spoke with could see the history of activity on my loan and was able to answer my questions quickly. I would highly recommend Pennymac.
