Lots of stairs down to the water from the parking lot, but also a ramp for wheelchairs, strollers, etc. Bench to sit on and watch the sunset. Quiet kayak launch area.

Really cool site but the bathrooms are not well maintained at all. I hope Duke Energy comes and cleans it! There’s so much opportunity for this to be an awesome historic site. Archaeologists need to come out here as well because there is a lot more to preserve. Some picnic tables would also be great here.

I look forward to seeing this future State Park being developed. I would like to see the phasing plan timeline. The picture shows a pedestrian bridge to the Big Island. I hope there are walking trails on both sides of the river banks that connect to the future and existing kayak and canoe put in-out ramps. This Nitrolee building is an awesome back drop for photos. The planting of native flowers is awesome. For now, this is a quick stop if you are in the area. The only negative is the vault latrine needs for frequent cleaning and stocking toilet paper and sanitizer.
