I live in Asheville at a apt complex that NHE used to manage. There is absolutely nothing good to say about this company. The only thing they care about is MONEY! They do not care about the tenants. They did many horrible things to me over the years and I was and still am one of the best tenants on this property. They stole my security deposit and tried to put me out of my apt and on the streets while I was very sick with a broken back. Sent their attys after ne with threatening letters telling me they would not renew my lease after years of my loyalty and care of their property never missing rent payments and keeping apt like a dollshouse. Our new property management company is so much better especially during the devastating hurricane helene we just experienced. I am so glad THAT NHE is no longer here and our community is much better. Beware of leasing with any NHE properties. You will regret it.

Ive lived in my apartment for about three years sadly, we have to re-sign our lease since we weren’t able to find anywhere else. The most frustrating thing about this apartment complex as there is absolutely no way to get in contact With the apartment managers and When you finally get in contact with one, they have the nastiest Attitudes I mean, these are some of the rudest people that I’ve ever spoken with my entire life. I tried for two weeks to get in contact with my apartment office so I could re-sign my lease and never heard anything back so when I called the number that they had called me on previously, I got another apartment manager, who was extremely rude and having the nastiest attitude ever telling me to give them a chance to call me back after it’s already been 2 weeks I just do not recommended resigning here. Truly, I’m not sure what manager I just spoke with, but she was the rudest person I’ve ever spoken with in my whole life and I really hope she finds another career

I have contacted this HOA management company over ten times this year about ongoing street parking violations in our neighborhood. According to our HOA rules, parking on the street is not allowed, yet cars consistently park on both sides, making it nearly impossible for larger vehicles—like emergency services or trash trucks—to pass safely.

Each time I’ve brought it up, the only response has been generic email reminders reminding people not to park on the street. Clearly, these emails are being ignored, and the HOA doesn’t seem willing or able to enforce its own rules. When I asked about issuing fines or penalties, I was told they needed proof cars were parked overnight or longer than four hours. The management company also mentioned they’re not around after hours to verify these violations.

Meanwhile, if I were late on my HOA dues, I’m sure there would be immediate penalties and fees. It’s frustrating to pay dues for services that aren’t being delivered, especially since the parking problem has become a legitimate safety concern. I’m disappointed in the lack of consistent enforcement and follow-through, and I hope they address these issues soon.

Unable to get help with rent issues at Parkside at Main. NHE cannot seem to keep a reliable manager on site. In the five years since opening we have had at least six different managers. This is truly distressing and unacceptable for the tenants.

Criminal enterprise. Nonresponsive, derelict in their responsibilities, and a general scam to overcharge homeowners and then fine, fee, and interest their way to massive profits. That's just their daily operations, the fraudsters they facilitate is another issue entirely.

Run from this mgmt company or just go with the Mafia. The latter has far more integrity.

After emailing Rhudy Smith, I was impressed when Joel Morrow personally knocked on my apartment door to address my concerns . He listened patiently as I spoke and answered my question to the best of his knowledge. When he left my apartment, I wasn't expecting him to return. Within a few minutes, just like that, everything was taken care of. I want to thank Joy Walker and Malcolm for working diligently to help resolve this issue. The teamwork you all displayed was phenomenal. Thank you again .

Good luck getting someone on the phone, you will be better off mailing a letter from China. EION was trying to rush everything as if nobody has to go to work, demanding things done by the end of business day. Makes a lot of sense why have a 2.4 Google review. I should have looked at this 1st.

Living in our neighborhood has been a mixed experience, largely shaped by the management practices of our Homeowners Association (HOA). It seems that the HOA picks and chooses which regulations to enforce strictly, often based on personal biases rather than a consistent application of guidelines. This inconsistency not only leads to confusion among residents but also fosters a sense of distrust towards the HOA. When some homeowners are penalized for minor infractions while others are overlooked, it creates an unequal playing field and undermines the community spirit.

Additionally, the HOA has not made significant efforts to connect with residents and build a sense of community. Regular communication is lacking, and opportunities for residents to voice their opinions or participate in decision-making processes are few and far between. This disconnect can make residents feel alienated, as if they are simply paying dues to an organization that does not have their best interests at heart.

In summary, while the HOA has a crucial role in managing our neighborhood, their practices regarding fund allocation, selective enforcement of rules, and lack of community engagement leave much to be desired. A more transparent, inclusive, and community-focused approach could significantly improve the living experience in our neighborhood and help foster a stronger sense of belonging among residents.
