Great bar!

We were on our USA road trip (Texas-Oklahoma-Kansas-Colorado) in May 2023 (unfortunately only) one day in Wichita - a great city with lovely people - and ended up in the evening at Mort's - probably by a happy coincidence, because we heard the band play and then wanted to have a look.

It was an unforgettable evening: Great music, the band was intoxicating, we got into conversation with the nicest people, there was delicious cold beer, good white wine and we had a great (!) time.
The "Share the table" is really great.
The waiters were quick and super friendly, best thanks to Emma Johnson and her team!
So in short: An excellent location, great recommendation!

The atmosphere was pretty good, with the exception of every teenager with a loud exhaust and a short phallus advertising their idiocy on the adjacent street, ear splittingly advertising. The bar itself kinda has the vibe that you'd expect to see a couple Mafia Don's having a couple drinks and discussing who would get the next irrefusable offer.

The cigars were overpriced, even for a pub type venue. I paid a little over twice what I am accustomed to paying at other brick and mortars, and about four times the per stick price of a box from an online retailer would be. Overall they had a medium selection to choose from, of which there were no Quorum or Ghurka sticks, so someone has shown a fair amount of proficiency in choosing decent cigars to sell.

The staff was friendly, but not attentive. Any time I wanted another drink, I had to walk into the bar and announce myself to get any service. This is just inexcusable. It may have been a skin color issue because the person who kept yelling "I knowed you ain't jus axed me dat!" seemed to get much more attention and service. The service was nearly enough to influence my decision to not darken their doorstep again, but there's another issue that drove the final nail in the coffin:

Learn how to make a decent Old Fashioned. Please. For the love of all which is holy and unholy alike, do away with that bastardized concoction that tastes like whisky flavored syrup. The one I received was more simple syrup and ice than whisky and bitters. It was sickeningly sweet. Instead of an orange twist expressed over the top of the cocktail, the bar tender just ripped the skin (pith and all) off an orange wedge and threw it on top of the mound of ice cubes that looked like someone waved a whiskey advertisement somewhere near it. The cocktail didn't qualify as an old fashioned, and barely qualified as safe for human consumption. An old fashioned should be spirit forward with just enough sugar to compliment the vanilla from the oaking of the whisky. Just enough bitters to warm the spicyness of the char remnant of the barrel. When one sips an old fashy, they should be able to think, "That's a fine whisky, with an extra hint of something nice." My thought when sipping Mort's was, "Dear lord that's a lot of sugar for $12." It was absolutely disgusting.

Ergo, I'll find somewhere else for my future cigar and cocktail endeavors in the future.

Fun little patio spot. Decent cigar selection. Enjoy the TV’s and service here. However, The live music on the weekends is way too loud. I’m early 30s and love a good club. Loud music never bothers me. I’m not expecting to talk while they’re performing but it’s so loud it’s obnoxious. Not sure who’s the manager or controls the music but it should be addressed. It makes it worse when the band just screams in the mic. If you come on the weekend just be prepared. I hope this review stirs a conversation and they address the issue. Everything else is fine.

Half price martinis on Monday’s! Such a great place to hang out with friends! Huge menu of drinks and the popcorn is free and has such a great flavor! Customer service is top notch and very attentive ! Very good selection of cigars! Live music is the cherry on top!

My 2nd time ever in Wichita, and this is the place with the best Martinis, watch out for The Aussie. I came the first time because it's a ross the street from hotel, the 2nd time, I was there on purpose. And I met the greatest ppl, who said Southern Hospitality is only in the south? LOVE ME SOME, Hannah, Karina, Robert, Kim, Daniel, Reggie, Preston and the rest of the Crew, workers and patrons.

Their martini menu is extensive and impressive. The bartenders here are true artists and i enjoyed their impeccable swift and friendly service. Overall fantastic establishment. Can't wait to return and explore more of their offerings, including their cigar offers. Highly recommended, even for a short step in!

I love this place! It's the perfect place for a girls night out. Live music, great service, fancy appetizers and delicious Martini's. Definitely my favorite place to go out in Wichita! I always seem to get Rebecca the server and she is just wonderful. Chris at the front door is fun and very nice. I recommend that if you haven't been to stop by for a martini and done hummus and pita bread.
