While the office staff are wonderful and always helpful, my experience with the business owner (Robin) has been nothing short of frustrating. She is eager to rent out the spaces, but when it comes to handling necessary repairsāwhich are her responsibilityāshe is completely uncooperative. Throughout my nearly eight-year lease, I only had to request repairs four or five times, yet each time, it felt like I was asking for the impossible. The process was unnecessarily difficult and disappointing, and Iām relieved to be done with it.
Additionally, be very cautious with your security deposit. I was charged for unjustifiable expenses, including carpet cleaning for carpets that didnāt exist. When I moved in, the space had no flooring, and my business had to install it at our own expense. Despite that, I was told I could not remove the carpet upon moving outāonly to be billed for cleaning it.
Furthermore, after nearly eight years in the space, I had naturally hung pictures and made necessary improvements. To be considerate, I patched the holes before leaving, only to be charged for the removal of the white spots from the patchingānot for repainting, but simply for the removal of the patchwork itself. After such a long lease, one would expect that the next tenant would be painting the space, just as I had to do myself.
Over the years, I put significant money into the property, covering plumbing updates, electrical work, updated countertops, and even pigeon netting (which I was initially told wasnāt possible). Despite these contributions, I was unfairly charged for minor and questionable items. Looking back, maybe I should have sent them a bill?
If youāre considering renting through this property manager, be prepared for challenges when it comes to property maintenance and your deposit. My advice: document everything carefully and set clear expectations upfront. Or really, just donāt use them.
