Edit: we loved living here initially - I was an original resident and had a lease for a total of 3 years. We were able to overlook the sound issues, drawbacks of the neighborhood, and never being able to get an uber or food delivery easily. We LOVED the staff and felt very at home.

However, it felt like management just gave up the last 6-8 months of our lease and was mainly focused on filling vacancies without screening anyone well. To the point we moved out and ended up paying double rent for several months to live in another apartment community that was being managed properly. Our biggest hangups were that no one picked up dog poop (yes, they do poo-prints, but no one knows why - there is still poop EVERYWHERE - and even pee in the interior hallways on multiple occasions that stayed for days) there were too many dogs off leash, and the short term rentals (read: Air BnBs) were not what I agreed to live with - recommend searching Reddit threads on these - There are dozens in the building, despite the owners and leasing management denying they are there. Hopefully new management will bring some changes. I’d recommend holding off for a while though and give them some time.

I don’t like leaving non-glowing reviews, but I’d be pissed if my mom ended up renting in a place like this based on an inaccurate review.

Previous review: We love living here. The building is gorgeous and the location provides the right balance of cost and proximity to downtown and Unity Park. The community is very welcoming - I moved to Greenville not knowing a single person, and my neighbors here have become some of my closest friends. The staff here are, hands down, the best feature, though - they are knowledgeable, attentive, and kind; community events are thoughtful and well executed. I’m happy to have a beautiful, safe place to live, that welcomed my 2 dogs, too, and am surrounded by some really great people.

I've lived here since the opening of Judson Mill 3+ years ago. I continue to love my high ceilings, big windows and amazing sunsets. And now with a farmers market and a wine bar added to the commercial side, it's been wonderful! Jillian, our new manager is fantastic! She's very proactive and highly willing to make any needed changes. It's all a win for me!

I had the pleasure of touring the Judson Mill Lofts in Greenville, SC, and I can’t recommend this property enough! From the moment we arrived, Jill, the leasing manager, greeted us with a warm smile and a welcoming demeanor. She was so accommodating, even squeezing us in for an unscheduled tour. The property itself is absolutely stunning—full of character and charm, with plenty of amenities to offer. Jill made the whole experience a joy, and her wonderful personality truly stood out. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to call home, I highly recommend checking out the Judson Mill Lofts!

So I am fairly new to the property. It didn’t take long at all to get settled in and comfortable, thanks to the great new staff managing the property. The process was smooth, and I feel like I’ve been here for years. Everyone is friendly, it’s clean, and it’s beautiful and unique. Hands down best and nicest place I’ve lived, and it’s minutes from downtown. Good

I sold my condo on Lake Murray in Columbia and moved to Judson Mill- the first apartment I have lived in since my 20’s- a few months ago. What a fabulous place to live!!! On top of living in my super cool, industrial style apartment with a huge balcony, the management here is incredible!!! It’s such a different and unexpectedly great experience!!! From the beautiful pool and outdoor living space to the club room and package concierge service, the amenities are next level!
Great parking and so dog friendly- even a dog park. I got so lucky when I found Norman and friends in the office here at Judson Mill!!!

I would strongly advise against moving into Judson Mill Apartments. The experience has been overwhelmingly disappointing for several reasons. First and foremost, the walls are incredibly thin, making it feel like you’re living in a noisy dormitory. You can hear every bit of music and noise from neighboring apartments, which is exacerbated by the multiple event spaces scattered throughout the property. These event spaces are poorly designed, allowing attendees to literally look directly into resident windows. The events often continue until the early hours of the morning, severely disrupting any chance of peaceful rest as it sounds like a concert is happening directly outside your window.

The apartment complex suffers from poor construction and maintenance. We’ve had persistent issues with flies and now, ongoing dust and noise all day from construction activities, with no apparent regard for the residents. Good luck if you work from home! The pool area is hardly a peaceful retreat, as residents frequently blast their speakers, and for a time, the lack of a proper pool fence allowed people from the surrounding area to enter and cause trouble. It’s surprising they finally fixed the fence, but it came too late for many of us.

Additionally, the front desk staff are notoriously slow and unhelpful with their responses to emails. Over the two years we lived here, we encountered five different maintenance workers, none of whom managed to effectively resolve our issues (or issues that the poorly constructed complex challenges them with). One positive - it seems the latest maintenance workers (Ty and Philip) have been much more helpful. Overall, as soon as Addison (former manager who was fantastic) left for another job 2 years ago, the apartment complex feels very poorly managed and constructed, making our time here miserable more often than not. Save yourself the hassle and look for a different place to live! I’m sure they pay off the negative google reviews as we knew MANY residents who couldn’t put up with the crap and moved out left and right.

My family and I really enjoy it here. Sure, you’ll encounter some frustrating things from time to time, but is overall a wonderful place for a myself with a family and young kids. Great access to downtown and everything else! Jillian and co are the best!

We’ve lived at Judson Mill for a short while now and have already faced some issues with management and maintenance. Emails often go unanswered, making it frustrating when issues arise. Maintenance is also a problem—things like throw-up and dog pee in the hallways take way too long to be cleaned up, which is unacceptable for a residential building.

Another big issue that I see other people complaining about, that I agree with, are the Airbnbs. Units are being rented out as Airbnbs, leading to frequent noise and inconsiderate guests who don’t treat the property with respect. It’s disappointing because this could be a great place to live if management was more responsive and proactive about keeping the complex clean and safe for long-term residents.
