In 2013, the last time LA’s housing market was crazy competitive, we won a bidding war because of our real estate agent Vera Nelson. But those bidding wars were nothing compared to today’s.

We listed our house with Vera and it sold immediately. Meanwhile, we were stumped about what and where to buy in LA. Although we were downsizing, we couldn’t find a house in our price range that checked all of our boxes—until we found one that had fallen out of escrow. Because we were lucky to grab the last 15-minute time slot to view the property, we wanted to jump on it. Of course there was a bidding war and we felt defeated at the outset. But, because Vera knows the market and understands the psychology of real estate pricing, she knew exactly what we should offer. Once our offer was accepted the sellers’ demands created a series of obstacles. (And in the midst of these negotiations, Vera was tirelessly overseeing the progression of the paperwork for the house she sold for us.) But it was Vera’s warrior-fierce tenacity, offset by her diplomacy, that allowed us the freedom to relax knowing we were moving forward. Five weeks later we had the keys to our new house.

I couldn't be happier with having Vera as my realtor! She's the best there is. My first home buying experience felt like it was going to be a nightmare - I was in a horrible living situation at the time and she went out of her way to make sure I was safe and gave me personal contacts she didn't have to do. She hooked me up with a lender who knew VA loans inside and out which helped streamline the process so much faster. I ended up getting a home I absolutely love and felt so good in the end with how much she fought for me every step of the way. I saved SO much money in the course of closing because she caught things the seller or escrow company was trying to get away with.
