Reading over the requirements section, I do not understand WHY does the potential renter have to pay for the preparation of the paperwork. Makes no sense. You get your service fee from the owners of the properties and then you try to basically double charge for a so called prep fee for drawing up the contract. That’s what you’re supposed to do in the first place. You don’t pay for their employees wage, that’s why they pay their employees. That is so shady. I have my own properties and I do not do that. It’s unfortunate that you try and take people for their hard earned money. Just like a car lot. They have the same practice. But if you ask that question of why the charge at a dealership, they take it off. Here, they get offended and tell you that you do not have to rent here. Very dishonest kind of practice. Stay away from these people. Don’t be swindled to pay for something that they should be doing anyways. Paperwork, that’s normal and the potential renter shouldn’t have to pay for your supplies or employees job sets.

Very easy to work with and they found my family a decent house to rent until we were ready to purchase. The few little issues we had with the house we were renting were always fixed promptly. The move in and move out process was perfect. I highly recommend this company to all who are looking to buy or rent.

My parents rented a house in a nice area. Upon renting and signing a lease they were told certain things by the property manager, owner of Homes R Us. After signing the lease and putting the deposit down, the owner and property manager went back on those promises and words to the tenants who were now stuck in a lease. My parents did the initial walk through of the property which I assisted in just to be sure they noted every single scratch, chipped paint, broken tile, that way they were not responsible for it upon move out. They paid 2 months worth of rent and a large pet deposit. Two months of them moving in the company was contacted by phone and email several times and refused to fix anything on the home. Due to my mom's health issues and things not getting at the residence and heating not being secured in the home, they decided to terminate the lease and move out. The management company had another tenant move in shortly after which confirmed the termination of the lease. However, after moving out the company sent my mother an itemized list which was charging my parents for several things that were listed on the initial move in inspection or not listed at all but added and stated that now its missing and needs replaced. The home was in great shape minus a couple things. After receiving the itemized list, we wrote an appeal to the chargers and why they were incorrect and why it was not able to be charged based on California laws and the rights of the renters. I made 2 copies, one for me and one that I sent the company via certified mail in order to be sure that they received it. Sure enough we were given a receipt that the company signed and received the letter of appeal. We then followed up with a phone call to the company and the owner could not speak with us at that time, and we were told we would be contacted back. That never happened. We have yet to hear back from the company and even though we appealed the wrongful charges, it was just sent and reported on both my parents credit and now in collections. I feel this should and probably is illegal and they have no business having a management company. They are robbing people of their money and running a shady husband and wife management company.

Lets start off by saying, although there properties have space and are great in price range the way they handle any tenants request because of the property they rent, is PATHETIC! We lived in one of there apartment buildings for almost 4 years and we had sooo many bad experiences with the way they handled each of them. We had the water boiler spill all the water inside and damaged our carpet, water kept leaking from the roof into the kitchen thru a whole right next to the light which was a hazard, the stove was very old and didn’t even work, and all they did was go and turn it back on with the switches, as well as the restroom the bathtub would leak to the bottom apartment and it took them more than 2 weeks to get it fixed. The apartment complex we lived say they are “gated” and yes theirs a gate, but it doesn’t work, we had my husbands work truck broken in and they stoled his property. They obviously want there rent money ASAP or they’ll charge extra for late fee, yet don’t get things fixed. We recently moved (Thank God) to our new construction home and when we received our deposite back, the deposite was a joke! We paid $650.00 and got $213.00 back. A joke right! We got charged $350.00 for blinds that are the cheapest in the market that cost no more than $7-$15 that would make it $72 the most for all 5 blinds. Sun damage & wear and tear obviously had to happen, and when cleaning them they would break, obviously I needed to clean them and we are fine paying for them to get replaced since they were damaged, but $350 for cheap blinds! P A T H E T I C ! Also, we got charged $87 because of suppose late fee in giving the keys back, mind you we moved out December 31st and January 1st was NEW YEARS and a Friday, so Saturday and Sunday they were obviously closed and we turned them in on that Monday January 4th. Upon calling today since a week of asking for Tony to call and talk to us about us not being ok with this deposit we got back, I talked to Mrs. Diaz and she said so herself that those blinds are cheap, yet still said quote “lucky we didn’t get charged more”. If you are looking to rent, I’m sure you can find BETTER renters, don’t go to this pathetic company. Thank you HRU Property Management.

I am very disappointed with the service. I applied for a rental 3601 S. Chester and contacted via text several times, called Tony Diaz cell direct andaand the officeno and heard back from him. Not a sorry but we only process once you see the property or basically some type of a response via text or phone email something. I don't recommend you deal with this guy. He is not professional at all!!! The positive side of this is I called and said they will refund my $40 application fee.
