I had an incredibly negative experience working with Howard Wu from Chase about 8 years ago when I was trying to secure a mortgage for my current home. Initially, Howard seemed nice and professional, but things quickly turned sour once my loan was rejected due to my income not meeting the requirements. While I fully understood the rejection, Howard’s attitude drastically changed. He became rude and dismissive, clearly viewing me as a waste of time.

At that point, all I needed was a simple rejection letter from Chase so I could pursue financing with another bank. However, Howard and his branch delayed issuing the letter, which put me at risk of losing both my contract and deposit. I repeatedly tried to reach out via phone and email, but my calls and messages were ignored. The request for a rejection letter was completely normal, yet they refused to accommodate.

As the deadline to secure financing approached, I was left with no choice but to take a day off work and sit in Howard’s office for five hours, insisting on getting the letter. He treated me with utter disrespect, making me feel as if I were nothing more than an annoyance. Only after hours of waiting did I finally get the letter. Thankfully, I was able to secure a mortgage through another bank, and the seller extended the contract.

I originally wrote about this experience eight years ago, but it seems the review has disappeared. I feel it’s important to share this once again so others are aware. No one should be treated the way I was. I strongly advise against working with Howard Wu or his
