My mortgage refinance with HomePlus is nearly done, and I'm about ready to cancel the entire thing because I've been unhappy with the treatment I've received by their agent, Paul Rasor.

When I first called HomePlus, I was told somebody would be in touch within 30 minutes. After an hour with no contact by anyone, I left home for my day and returned a couple hours later.
Paul contacted me some time while I was out, and I replied, sending all required documents needed to proceed with the mortgage and lock a rate. There was still time left in the day to do this.

Instead of completing this on Friday, Paul left this over the weekend, making it too late to get the lower rate I could have received if this had been done promptly.

It's been a week or so since and it's now the day before I'm supposed to hand over a cashiers check for the closing costs. I asked Paul yesterday to give me the details I needed to have this cashiers check properly completed, but I still haven't heard from him.

Every bit of correspondence Paul has requested from me, I have delivered as promptly as possible. But when prompt action has been necessary from Paul, it's not been forthcoming.

Buyer beware, all the great things that seem to be on the web about HomePlus, do not seem to be the truth in all cases.

HomePlus Mortgage is just slimy spammers. I chatted with Manuel once 5 years ago and he and HomePlus Mortgage have continued to spam, contact, and email me since! I have told them to stop, to remove me from their lists, etc etc but they WILL NOT STOP.

While the transaction to purchase our San Diego property started 10 months ago, the full impact of Home Plus effect on my life took some time to manifest itself. Thus the belated review. Actually the Home Plus staff we dealt with was professional and helpful, specifically Maureen Martin was efficient and helpful and when it became obvious that the after sale services by the assigned lender they transferred our loan was totally incompetent, she did what she could to help, but she could not make incompetent people competent. The lender was Planet Home Lending, they took one payment from us then promptly transferred our loan to Select Portfolio Servicing. These people are incompetent and they have one star on Google reviews, and they are, according to their profile, a lender for bad risk borrowers.
I am a physician with no financial problems. The genesis of this one star review for HomePlus is simple, they share the report card of the lenders the transfer the loan to. Let's say as a physician i refer my patient to an incompetent specialist and there is a bad outcome, my patient will and should hold me responsible for making such a bad choice on his or her behalf. HomePlus is responsible for the problems I have had to endure as a mortgagee , the succession of administrative problems that. have yet to be straightened out and will not be because despite innumerable calls to SPS , they still cannot even find our loan number , phone number , SSN through their automated system, we have to lie that we are new customers 7 months later to get to talk to someone. And that is the tip of the iceberg.HomePlus needs to be way way more careful in how and who they chose to partner with and refer to in business and if they don't think they need to for some reason like "it's out of our control", then they should expect more one star reviews from people like me . I own four properties, three are paid for, i have had a dozen or so mortgages in my lifetime and this experience has been the worst ever, by far our worst lending experience and we hold HomePlus Mortgage responsible for letting us be transferred to a one star lender ( over 200 reviews) SPS.
