If you’re considering working with Hinson Management, be warned. This company has some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. They have no accountability or transparency and seem entirely focused on collecting & spending funds rather than serving the communities they manage.

When you (a paying customer) call for help, the representatives are either unhelpful or outright dismissive.
There’s no feedback system in place to share concerns or suggestions for improvement, so it seems they have no interest in hearing from the residents they are supposed to serve. And if you ask questions or follow ups, they simply turn vindictive!

Worse yet, if you ask to speak to a manager, they refuse to disclose who their management team is. It’s as if they’ve set up barriers to avoid responsibility at every turn. When I looked up myself who the manager was & asked to speak with them by name, the manager said they were just “the maintenance guy.” What a joke & what a shame!

Overall, this company does not provide the level of service or professionalism one would expect from an HOA management firm. They need significant improvement in communication, transparency, and customer care. Look elsewhere if you want a management company that values the people & communities it’s supposed to serve.

The absolute Worst customer service ever. Keely is completely unprofessional and rude. She literally had the audacity to tell me I should not have bought my house if I had a problem with the rules! What a joke! They don’t care about anything other than what’s written on the guidelines which make ZERO sense in the neighborhood. Safety and accessibility matter nothing to them. And they only want money. Every person I have spoken to at this company seem to have the exact same I don’t care attitude. It’s completely frustrating.

As a homeowner, I have experienced Hinson’s HOA to be very unprofessional and unethical. They sent us the annual HOA fee to an unregistered address the first year we bought the property, which of course we didn’t receive. Next year it was sent to the correct address in which we paid them for the two years. But they insist we pay and keep adding interest late fees for a mistake that their billing did. And I quote “we can’t remove any fees and there’s nothing we can do”.
Disappointing how a company like that operates and skims people.

I typically dont leave such poor rated reviews, but this front office really needs to get it together, I’m not sure if they’re under the influence during work hours. But They have always been very hard to deal with as well as properly file and accept payments for our HOA fees on the right properties. Very disappointed in the HOA officials for our community.

Being recent homeowner, I have experienced Hinson’s HOA to be absolutely unprofessional and completely careless. Inspire of giving different Mailing address during Closing, they sent us the annual HOA fee to property address where nobody lived, which of course I didn’t receive. Also, never called or sent text for not paying HOA and applied late fees for a mistake that I never did. And I kept hearing “we can’t remove any fees and there’s nothing we can do”.
Disappointing how a company like that operates and skims people, in absolutely rude and reckless manner.

This is the worst HOA company in South Carolina. I just moved here and my landscaping is abandoned and neglected.
They have taken into account the $190.00 per month that I pay for them and they have the nerve to blame the builder for the death of the bushes in my home. That is not the builder's responsibility. Very disappointed and stressed out already!!

We own a townhouse in Spartanburg, but we live in Charleston. We went to Spartanburg yesterday and found that we were sent by mail to the property, rather than our mailing address, a notice that our HOA dues were past due. They never notified us that we owed a balance and didn't send the mail to our mailing address. We called them, and they aren't waiving any late fees either. The builder paid the dues for the first year, and Hinson just didn't bother calling us or letting us know that we had to start paying the HOA dues in October 2024. Just a letter dated December 2nd stating that we are late paying our dues and have a past due balance with interest owed. We offered to pay over the phone, but she said they had to tack on a 4% fee for that. So we will be mailing them a check for the past due balance including late fees, even though we never got an actual BILL in the first place. Then we asked her to mail us an invoice each month to our primary residence in Charleston, and she said they don't mail invoices each month! SO HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHEN MONEY IS DUE IF YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO SEND AN INVOICE OR A BILL?!?!?! We have an HOA in Charleston, and they send us an annual assessment and bill to be paid once a year. Hinson is a shady operation, and clearly from the other google reviews, we are not alone in our opinions of them! We will not buy any other properties where Hinson is the HOA management company. What a shady way of doing business...you owe money, but we aren't going to send you any bills to let you know you owe money until you're way past due...then we will only send a letter letting you know that you owe money with late fees, and we're not even going to send it to your correct mailing address! And when you try to just go ahead and pay over the phone, we are charging you an extra 4%! Ridiculous.
