I rarely write reviews for anyone, but I truly want to write one for Esquire Management because of their professionalism and excellent customer service. I have a rental property, and this company managed it for eight years. Throughout those eight years, they did an outstanding job—conducting annual inspections to ensure the tenants weren’t causing any damage. Every month, they never tried to fabricate issues just to deduct money from the rent like some other management companies do.
When I decided to take the house back, they handled everything thoroughly and professionally. They have a team of contractors, so whenever there’s any damage to the property, they have the right people to take care of it. I also reach out to them for referrals to trusted vendors. Even though they no longer manage my property, they are always responsive, enthusiastic, and provide sincere advice whenever I contact them.
Tracy Guillen, the owner, is someone I truly admire—she is truly exceptional. That’s why I highly recommend Esquire Property Management if you’re looking for a reliable and professional property management company in Ventura County. She is also an outstanding and knowledgeable realtor and broker.
Additionally, a big shout-out to Janette and Ana on her team!

I can honestly say that everyone at ESQUIRE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT is so nice to work with. They always follow through with what they say they’re going to do. And they make it so easy and completely hassle free for me as the property owner. I just wish I would’ve found them many years earlier. I am so grateful that I have had them managing our properties the last few years. They are the best property management company. I would like to give no stars but not an option. I paid and entrusted this company to represent me for a rental property while I was overseas. At best they gave bad advice, at worst actively worked to my disadvantage. As an example there was an outside, temporary structure used for storage built under the patio awning. Not up to code and stuffed with paper where the walls met the awning. They wanted me to spend $2,754 on making it water tight etc. This structure was not even legal as it backs on to a bedroom and there would be no way of escaping with the room in front. The tenant opted to break their contract over this room and Esquire blamed me for their leaving as “the proper thing to do was to fix the issue”. With them managing the property it became a money pit and I opted to move back in myself. At this point they charged me $1000 for termination of the contract but nothing to the tenants. The room was never in their contract in the first place. I also lost my washer/drier as the tenants didn’t want to use it or store it. They should have been informed that they were part of the contract and needed to be retained.
My son was advised by an HOA company locally that they wouldn’t recommend them. If only I had had this advice. Avoid this company.

Everyone I have dealt with at Esquire has been absolutely terrific. The entire organization runs in a seamless, professional manner. Every single time I called whoever answered the phone was not only professional, but very helpful and extremely friendly. Marie initially helped me with the application process which was then finalized by Patty and ultimately completed by Tracy. Patty responded immediately whenever I had a question and one time when Patty was out Maria happened to answer the phone and she looked into things for me and like everyone else, she was courteous and professional. Today Diana reminded me to take care of one item I had forgotten about. She handled it by text and like everyone else was professional and very kind. To say that I am impressed by this company is an understatement. They “take care of business” and they do it in a friendly, helpful manner. They fully utilize technology, via texts, emails, telephone calls, and “Docusign.” Highly recommended!!! It’s fun to deal with a company where everyone not only is good at what they do, but they are just nice people. It’s clear they derive joy in serving others, which is really what life at its best is all about. Keep up the good work Esquire and thank you very much Patty, Marie, Maria, Diana and Tracy, as well as all the nice people who answered the phone whenever I called in. I haven’t yet dealt with Natasha (my actual property manager) but I’ve got a sneaking hunch she’s just like the rest of ‘em:-). Very good at what she does and very nice.

My family and I wanted to take a moment to share our experience in working with a property management company for the first time in our lives. Furthermore, to share with you how truly exceptional Ms. Patricia Barraza was in helping us find a place to call home. My review is truly overdue, and for that I apologize to Ms. Barraza. We found a place to call home in Camarillo on June of this year. We had previously lived in the same home for 45 years.
I am a firm believer that the industry Patty works in is competitive and therefore customer service is key. My family and I were fortunate to have come across a leasing agent who makes you feel like your needs are first priority. If Patty was ever having a bad day or super busy, that never came though via any of our endless communications filled with endless questions. Patty was always very thorough, and I mentioned to her how incredible her responsiveness was. If she was not available, I would always hear back from her no longer than 5 minutes later. Seriously!
The cool, calm mindset kept our anxiety low and gave me the confidence I was working with the right property management company. Patty is very knowledgeable of the market; her kindness and just overall good energy made the entire process very relaxing and simple.
I worked with other large property management companies in Ventura County. The property management company is only as good as the employes that work for them. No one comes close to what Patty brings to the table. She is truly a gold nugget in anyone who is fortunate to have her as the face of such a service-oriented business. I will say that Patty set my expectations really high and not unrealistically high either. I speak of Patty at Esquire Property Management to anyone that is looking for a new place to call home. When we are looking to move or transfer, we will not hesitate to call Patty, and work with Esquire Property Management.
We truly appreciate her input and relied on it heavily. This is an invaluable quality to have as a service provider, and not everyone has it. She truly focuses on making sure people are satisfied though the process and with the outcome. I would trust Patty with my eyes closed. Just outstanding! Thank you!! Patty

Esquire is by far the best property management team I have ever worked with, and it's not even close. They go well above and beyond your typical property management company. For example, my tenant all of a sudden disappeared and was several months behind rent. Turns out that the tenant was in the hospital with a chronic illness. Once Tracy G. found out the hospital, she actually went to visit the tenant in the hospital to see how he was doing. I don't know any company that would do that. Also, because the tenant was behind on rent, we had to file for rental assistance from the state of CA. Maria S. took the lead on this and was relentless on following up with the state to make sure that our application was approved. Ultimately, she got the job done and our application was approved. Thank you so much for your hard work, diligence and customer service, Maria! To sum it up, I highly recommend Esquire if you are in need of a quality property management firm with a team that really cares about you, your tenants and your investment. You will not be disappointed!
