My wife and I recently engaged Mike Bui to list our home in the San Jose Rose Garden area and I have to say Mike is simply AMAZING!!! With Mike’s expertise, along with the support of his marketing and staging teams we were able to sell our home only THREE DAYS after listing, and SIGNIFICANTLY over asking with multiple offers.

Mike also took extreme care in vetting all offers and providing us with the information necessary in order to determine the best offer to accept.

I really can’t say enough great things about Mike but the best thing that we appreciate is his keeping us constantly updated with status. Since we relocated out of the area prior to listing the home Mike took care of every detail to ensure a smooth, seamless....and QUICK sale.

I highly recommend Mike and EQ1 and would definitely use his services again!!!

We had such an amazing experience with Mike at EQ1 Real Estate. From the first showing to the final walkthrough, everything was so easy and calm, smooth and inviting. We had 2 young children and I was almost due with our 3rd and had so much going on - adding buying a home to the list was not ideal but Mike & his team made everything so easy for us! If you’re looking for an agent, look no further!

My wife and I have had the pleasure of working with Fernando now for two purchases several years apart. Fernando works extremely hard for his clients, whether buying or selling. We really appreciate how he took the time to understand our wants and needs. He is responsive, knowledgeable, and personable. He helped tremendously with scheduling consecutive showings at multiple properties, providing insight into what would be a competitive bid, and preparing our condo for sale. His team also put together a beautiful website and lifestyle video for the sale. He goes above and beyond in making sure his clients are happy and taken care of. Navigating the hot Bay Area market is especially challenging and we were lucky to have Fernando help us with it twice (so far!)

If I could give Mike 10 stars out of 5, I would certainly do.
My husband and I hired Mike based on his outstanding achievements in Real Estate. Today, getting the right people to see your listings at the right time has become very challenging.
Due to today's over-saturated and highly competitive market, realtors have to market to their target audience to be able to stand out. The market has shifted and realtors have no choice but to work really hard to hire more clients and buy and sell more houses. The time when buyers begged realtors to represent them in an overbidding market has long passed. No realtor today takes anything for granted anymore. You don't wait for a property and a client to reach out to you, you have to work hard to again target your audience.
The transaction was truly flawless from the day we met to discuss the best strategy to sell our house and sell it well!! all the way to close of escrow. Mike is very organized and extremely professional. He doesn't leave anything to chance. He worked really hard on the house by taking ownership and efficiently communicating with us. He was always available and showed tremendous amount of patience being very aware of the complexity of today's transactions and importance of reassuring his clients. His team is amazing and I would describe him as a Maestro conducting a Philharmonic orchestra with him and his musicians almost never hitting the wrong musical notes. I really mean it. He set up an excellent culture in his company and surrounded himself with very competent and professional people. Kudos!! A++++...
If you want to buy or sell your house in a timely fashion and at the best possible price, Mike is your guy:)
Selling and not relying on listing is what distinguish him from the rest of his peers!
Everybody can list a house but not everybody can sell and sell well!!

This is a review mostly for Nick Meyer who works with EQ1. I feel the open houses / listings by EQ1 across the board are outstanding, but we worked with Nick for our home buying.

Short Summary: Nick works on your behalf, around your requirements, constraints, schedules. Has fantastic local knowledge about the neighborhoods, schools, commute, everything that matters in decision making, and you can learn how to be punctual and before time from him.
Elaborating: We made Nick our agent on a hunch when we ended up in one of his open house. He was not trying to sell himself, but something (including his very nicely managed open house) made us spontaneously ask him to be our agent. And we are very glad we did.
Nick understood our budget constraints, our neighborhood requirements and more importantly, our taste in a home, and would limit his recommendations to those which we would most often like, instead of flooding us with irrelevant ones. Our first offer after several open houses, we put at a price below his suggestion and he gladly took it to the sellers. After that we had to take a break because of our newborn, and he left us alone. When we were ready and found houses in our area of choice, he started working with us on getting an offer ready. The next offer we made, we got the house.
- Very critical during the search was his knowledge about local things that matter. Including which schools are good, which day cares are good, what shopping area is near what house.
- He also had an eye for subtle details which we would miss, like "that house is next to a high tension power line", "that house is too close to a train track", "This house faces is adjacent to a busy street" etc.
- As market started to show signs of slowdown, he first observed that early, and later tempered his aggressiveness accordingly, to help us put in a less aggressive offer
- After the offer was accepted and while we waited for closing, he would still be there with us at the house several times to show to multiple contractors (for remodels) including few of his own recommendations. And he would always get there before us, and worked flexibly around our schedules.
- He spent a lot of time brainstorming with us the different ideas we could use to plan our remodel. We continue to consult him even now on phone for our homes ongoing remodel.
In a nutshell, we are very glad we ran into him and took a leap of faith. We would recommend him as your agent with no doubts.

I've been to a few open houses by EQ1 or Equity One and they do a great job at least selling their units.

I can say as a buyer, I'm attracted to the units they present.

1. Great photography. When you're browsing Redfin or Zillow, the homes stand and usually look a lot better than the actual unit.

2. The units are shown very well. Whoever they have doing the quick interior design is good. I personally know a complex that had 2 units on sale and the one by EQ1 sold immediately while the other is still sitting on the market (it's been 3 weeks now).

3. Great looking pamphlets. Not the usual multipurpose cheap 1 pager. It's an actual hard paper, colorful pamphlet that you'd want to keep

4. Professional realtors. Today I went to an open house for a loft in downtown SJ and I was greeted and welcomed in. Not intrusive at all. I believe it was Jen Beehler that welcomed my dog at the condo that sold right away and Ronnie Lou Hernandez that was presenting the loft I saw today (which I'm shocked it's contingent already).

5. Food provided at open house. Salami, grapes, I didn't try them, but it makes the unit a lot warmer.

If and when it comes time to sell in my life, you guys will be in the back of my mind 🙂
