I took some videos. We had a good stay. I understand where some of these negative reviews are coming from. There is a lot of work that seems to be going on at this property. I can see in our room specifically a lot of the dings and marks have been recently painted over. I saw the same thing in the public areas.

Everyday at least in one place of the hotel there was actual work going on. We saw drywall getting brought into rooms. So they are definitely spending money and improving things.

When I got here I hadn't looked at the reviews ahead of time because I assumed hey it's a double tree It's going to be decent. The reviews scared me when I checked in I flat out said hey is it possible for me to check out the room because if it's not up to stuff I'd like to just get a refund and go somewhere else. Well it took them by surprise it seemed, they were more than gracious and let us inspect the room ahead of time and we didn't find anything wrong. I also included a video of that.

Internet was pretty decent We didn't have any issues. We're gamers so that is important. It was kind of finicky during peak times and things would take longer to load.

The restaurant was awesome and everything we ordered tasted good and fresh. The snack bar on site was a little lacking in options which could be a disappointment if you're trying to use food and beverage credits.

Overall though as a frequent Hilton stayer would stay here again. And again it's quite obvious they're actually taking care of these things and throwing some money at it to update and repair.

I'm not sure how long it will be until it's up to snuff but I enjoyed my stay and the price was right.

This hotel is an embarrassment to the DoubleTree brand. The hallway carpets are dirty and stained. Walls in hallways, stairwells and rooms are cracking, gouged and in need of repair and paint. The bathroom is unnecessarily tiny, lots of dead space in the room. The front desk did not follow through on requests for towels. NOT worth the price.

This is an average three star hotel. There is no Doubletree will factor in anything here. Rooms are very basic, quite rundown. Bathrooms are extremely small and can only fit one person at a time. Toilet will need flushing three times even for your most simple output. Hallways are basic. They do have a restaurant next-door that serves a good breakfast. I don’t know why this is labeled as a five star. It is actually a three star hotel. Do not come here expecting things to smell good and be brand new. A little rundown, but serves the purpose.

I am perplexed by the positive reviews here. I travel a lot (several times a month) for business and pleasure so I know my way around hotels ranging from business class chain hotels to boutiques to 5 star resorts. After paying close to $400 (using miles and cash) for a one night stay, I was shocked at our experience overall from the moment we approached the front desk to check-in.||We arrived at 2:52 PM and a female who failed to smile or offer a friendly greeting told us abruptly that our room wouldn’t be ready for at least 15 minutes. I confirmed that check-in time was 3 PM and was told yes and they would let us know when the room would be ready. We were not offered any cookies as is customary at Doubletree hotels. The lobby lacked any available seating so my son and I waited outside on the terrace. 20 minutes later we still had not heard anything so I went back inside and approached a gentleman at the front desk and asked if our room might be ready, since it was past 3:00 PM. I failed to get his name but he was extremely friendly and welcoming; a stark difference from the lady that we initially encountered. We were promptly given our room keys, a map and were told where to park, etc. ||Upon arrival at our ground floor room, the smell and temperature were stifling. This hotel has definitely seen better days. The room was very dark, even with all of the lights on and the drapes open. It was also dingy, and in need of repair. The desk chair was peeling and bathrooms tiles were broken. The bathroom doorknob was actually falling off. The bedside lamp was in need of replacement with a chipped up base and squashed lampshade. Very disappointing. Thankfully we were only there for one night.||I would not stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it to others without a major overhaul.

We booked two rooms both were absolutely disgusting. One room had hair in the shower and a wet towel the other had blood stained sheets. The wifi was really slow as well. But they did refund us fully so that’s nice.

I'm going to counter all the crappy reviews and say the Doubletree was actually pretty nice. My wife and I stayed for one night during a Napa trip and really enjoyed it. The room was clean and comfy and everything in order except bathroom fixtures that could have been a bit better secured.

Check-in was smooth and location was awesome. Given the price was reasonable not sure what magic folks are expecting.

Maybe some rooms are rough but this definitely isn't the roach motel some are making it out to be!

Came here for a wedding with my large family and found it to be at a great price. It’s my first time staying at a Doubletree of any kind and unfortunately I expected better—a lot better.

The facilities are dated. It’s nice from the outside but the rooms themselves were lacking in function (broken lighting our room) and aesthetically overall. Some rooms feel like they haven’t been touched in a long time with a stale smell and appearance. Our rooms lacked towels despite indicating there were going to be four people per room for all the rooms in our reservation. The pool door didn’t unlock during its opening hours and had to be fixed by the staff. There was painting or construction going on outside during our stay which made the air smell like a can of spray paint. The gym was the size of half a room and severely disappointing with three machines and barely any space for more than 3 people to comfortably exercise at once.

The best part was that the staff was super friendly. They accommodated to our requests immediately and were always open to talking. The warm cookie was a nice perk.
The parking lot had plenty of room although it seemed sketchy at night. The groundskeeping could be better as some trees seemed to be on the verge of falling over and obscured several parking spots.

Since Napa is a tourist destination, I would expect people to come and go often from this hotel so the upkeep would be better. Maybe there’s reasons why it seemed empty during our stay.

Terrible experience from stressed staff. After getting a room for only an evening we were given a room with a made but obviously "used" bed with splattered clear stains all over one side. When we asked for new bedding a maintenance person tossed us new bedding and we had to ask him to take the stained bedding which felt like asking to pull finger nails. The bed we were welcomed to was hard on one side and dipped on the other. I'm a heavy sleeper and can sleep in a variety of surfaces unabaided but this was by far the most uncomfortable Matress I've ever laid on. I couldn't sleep whatsoever and had to leave restless the opposite of the reason I went here. Another comment mentioned "motel quality at hotel prices". It certainly feels like an apt statement. I found it odd as this was an almost polar opposite to our previous experience but afylter reading the comments it appears I may have gotten lucky. I was told I would be able to get a refund for the trouble and would be contacted to resolve the matter. Now I'm seemingly being dodged as I've called a whole day layer to be told "I'd get a call back in half an hour" followed by "manager had an emergency he'll call you back in Wednesday".

If your looking for something with rest or convenience in mind this might not be the one. Lacking justification for the "5 star" .
