Please please please do not rent from Kristine or her property management group DK Property Management. I cannot speak to Kristine as a realtor but we rented from her in a furnished home and could not advise you enough to not rent from her. Before leaving we cleaned the home thoroughly (3 days of cleaning leading up to our move out date). 21 days later and received notice that she was keeping our entire deposit, most of which was being kept for normal wear and tear. She attached receipts justifying keeping amounts of the deposit that were dated from before we even moved in. Some of the pictures she attached didn’t show anything that would justify keeping the deposit and had a professional cleaner deep clean the home for $1175 which was payed for with our deposit. We immediately sent a letter to her requesting pictures and current receipts justifying the monies withheld from our deposit which is required by Cal. Civ. Code 1950.5. She replied with a typed list of things (no documentation or pictures) including “ The shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, and lotion dispensers were very dirty and had caked on products.”, “ The kitchen cabinets had crumbs, spilled sugar”, and “ The home and blinds were very dusty.” to name a few. We have rented over 11 homes in our lives (3 furnished) and have never once had even a penny withheld from our deposit or a negative review from a landlord. 14 days later and we have still not received any further justification for withholding our deposit. She also told us she was not the home owner and only the property manager but county records show she is the home owner (read another review on Zillow -filter to lowest rating- to see she has done this before). Also please take notice that all of her positive reviews are her helping others lease a home they own and as a realtor, NOT as a “landlord”. We are currently seeking consultation in what options we may have in this case
