Best property management company in the Northeast! I had a horrific situation with my rental property, my pipes burst on NYE 2017. Karen not only helped my client get the needed emergency relief in the freezing cold temperatures, she assisted me in getting the insurance claim to go thru properly. The individual guidance Karen provided during this crisis was immeasurable. Had she not guided me thru the process, I would’ve had to walk away from the property at a loss.

The worst property management co ever!
The owner Karen Maw, has to be the most ignorant person that should not be in the property management business! She talks down to you, thinking she is above everything thing and everyone! She has no personality or management skills! She is an office of one person, not having any on site crew if needed. All her work is subbed out by contractors that do not work for her. She randomly hires contractors and as a result they charge outrageous prices to the association. She not only does not know condo laws, being she makes up her own laws, and as a result the associations suffer for her negligence! Advice is to stay clear away from this company who has an extremely low rating, which should prove she is a waste and should not be in business! She is puppet

Our association took on Diamond star
Management after our previous management company dropped us after 2 months.The reason being that the previous management company was asked to do unethical things, asked by two of the board members. These board members have a grudge against a few of the owners and will do whatever it takes to get back at them. I know because I am one of the owners here, I made a call to our previous property management company spoke to the owner, gave me all the information on what they wanted to do to these owners. We were also told that they dropped us because they went into receivership, which is not true. They dropped us because of these two main board members who caused problems with owners. So they chose Diamond Star Karen MAW Because she is a puppet, and she will do anything to get business.just read her reviews.
Karen Maw is the pinnacle of incompetents.

We moved into a condo managed by Diamond Star Property Management in November of 2021. After moving in we noticed a very strong odor of cigarettes in the hallway that connects our door with our three other neighbors. Just walking through the hallway you ended up smelling like an ashtray. After taking some time to work out where the smell was coming from, we contacted our landlord to talk with Karen about what could be done to stop the smell and second hand exposure to the nicotine. This is a big concern because our son is currently under medical diagnosis for an auto-immune issue and is very sensitive to smoke. Karen has been everything but helpful, VERY unconcerned with the matters and frankly rude in her responses. Her attitude towards the whole issue felt very annoyed and inconvenienced. She said:

“They’ve installed a smoke eater and the owner has confirmed that the unit no longer smells. Someone is just smoking in the halls”

We smell it every day and have seen them with their door open and lit cigarettes in their mouth. The smoke eater is clearly not working but Karen mentions this is all she can do even though the rules at Remington Pond clearly states -

" If you have a smoker in your unit, it is required that you install an adequate smoke eater to help keep the smoke from permeating the other units. It is also requested that you install weatherproofing around your door so that the smoke will not permeate into the hallway."

But it doesn’t affect Karen, just other residents, so she emails back and forth arguing yet nothing ever gets done. If you have to hire a property management company and want angry, frustrated tenants, this "Karen" would be perfect for the job.

Edit: It’s been seven months and nothing has been taken care of. I’m sitting here today with the smell of cigarette smoke seeping into my kitchen. The only thing she’s done has been: making us paint our door because it was the wrong color even though our door isn’t the only one, THEN complaining about the direction the door was painted in. This is ridiculous. I would love to know what goes through her brain when deciding to do things like this instead of just taking care of an issue. None of our neighbors will make complaints after seeing the way she’s handled (or lack there of) our issues. Every review, save one, on any of the pages for this business are negative, and well deserved.

We recently moved into a property managed by Diamond Star. We have an ongoing issue is that our neighboring unit has been smoking cigarettes indoors, and this is allowing my 4-year-old son to be exposed to secondhand smoke. We contacted our landlord and asked him to talk to Karen from Diamond Star about the issue to which he has CC'ed us on the emails. Karen responded saying that the smell is not coming from this unit, despite not being here in person to see it herself. Allegedly, they've installed a smoke eater, which has not resolved the issue and they've been spraying the hallways with air freshener to cover it up.

My main concern for my son who is sensitive to smoke and being exposed to secondhand smoke, he is currently seeing the doctor for certain medical issues and the doctors have recommended staying away from secondhand smoke and other possible allergens to help alleviate his symptoms. My landlord is constantly emailing Karen asking her to solve the issue but she is unhelpful and regards that she has done enough by having the tenants show a receipt of a smoke eater. She is seemingly doing as little as possible as a property management company so she can coast by; she definitely lives up to being a "Karen"

Update: this started in November, it is not July and the issue STILL has not been taken care of. Thanks for being useless, Karen of Diamond star

I’ve had several issues with my condo since purchase. Every time I’ve needed assistance it always seems like a struggle. I’m very patient and understand things take time however the customer service or lack there of with this company is incredible. I’ve now sent out a request regarding damaged vinyl siding. This maintenance request was filled out on November 15. I patiently waited until December 29th before sending an email as I was never contacted. It is now march 2nd and not even a phone call. I work in customer service and this is not how you handle clients. Shame on you guys.
