Amazing park to visit. The landscape is truly amazing and surreal at times. The park is big and in order to really see its beauty entirely, you should allot yourself a couple days. Admission is $30 per vehicle and your pass is good for seven days. Cell phone service is very limited, so be prepared to not have GPS services or cell phone service. The park is open to walking trails and bring plenty of fluids.

It’s the largest national park! Geological wonder and desert scenes ,colorful rock formations to be seen at sunrise and sunset! Amazing how vast it is from over 300 feet under sea level up to 4000 feet above.
Salt flats to dunes. What an adventure!
Stay at the inn at Death Valley in a casita and eat at the stovepipe saloon for a full pic of desert life!

Lived in California for 10 years and this is the first time visiting Death Valley National Park. This Park is not as well highlighted as other parks in California but most definitely worth visiting. The landscape here is absolutely breathtaking! We will definitely schedule another trip to spend more time at this park.

I'm amazed by this national park. I didn't expect to find such landscape diversity at such relatively small place. Dunes, colorful rocky mountains, salt basin... This all was a very pleasant surprise.
What won't be the surprise is the fact that it's super hot and dry at this place. So bring a lot of water with your and then refill the empty bottles at the visitor center. Don't forget sunscreen lotion and a hat. I would have been roasted without all of these.
Depending which direction are you driving, expect to drive few hours to get out from the park to the nearest gas station or actually any bigger town, in general. This took me and my boyfriend about 3 hours and I'm glad that we have managed it with gas in our car. So just think about this in advance.

Visited Death Valley on February 2024. We stayed in the historic lodge and it was fabulous. Absolutely loved the trip with all my heart. The lodge was beautiful and the pool is not to be missed.

Did two great hikes. Very rugged, BTW. It goes without saying that plenty of water is a Must -even in the cooler weather of Feb. The drives are gorgeous. This is the biggest park in the lower 48! Also it can be cold so be prepared for extremes in the weather. We were lucky to be there and see the Manly lake with water in it.

The history of the area is fascinating.

This is a truly surreal and amazing park. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The first night, we got there when it was dark in hopes of stargazing as it's supposed to be one of the best places to do that. Unfortunately, it was too cloudy for stargazing, but we still had lots of fun going to badwater basin. It was crazy seeing the car thermometer going up and up and up a degree at a time to over 100 degrees ferenhight. I've never been anywhere so hot. Even more shocking to me was how dry the air was. I'm used to high humidity, so it was pleasant that the air was dry. Makes it more manageable. We drove around for a while and came back in the morning to do more hiking and visiting the gift shop. I wish I had more time to explore Death Valley. I hope I get to come back again someday.

The Death Valley National Park is one of the best places if you wanna see some desert. On the way there are also many stops were you can go on the toilet or wash something, because there is flowing water. So if your up for a picnic you can just make a short stop and eat something. Of course there is also the famous Area 51 in the national park, wich you can kind of visit, but you cant go further than the first checkpoint, so dont even try. The landscape is amazing and you have a great mountain view, but be advised: You will need some water and extended supplies, because there are only a few cities and no real sources of drink water. I would definitly recommend to visit the Death Valley National Park, because of the great view and of course Area 51.

Personally I think early spring is the best time to visit this amazing national park. If you are lucky you can come across a vast field of flowers (desert gold), snow at its highest point and pleasant weather at its lowest point all in one day. We experienced all of these in one day and it was awesome.
