Unresolved maintenance issues, threats regarding security deposit, and overall negligence.
I rented a home from Creative Housing, LLC, and experienced multiple unresolved issues, including broken microwave and dishwasher, poor ventilation, and pest control problems. Despite repeated service requests, most issues were ignored or delayed.

I officially notified them of the lease termination due to poor living conditions and returned the keys on time. However, they now refuse to return my security deposit without explanation and have even made threats about withholding it entirely.

I have documentation, photos, videos, and written communication proving their negligence. This company appears to follow a pattern of ignoring tenant rights.

I’ve submitted complaints to the BBB and other agencies and will take legal action if necessary.

Tenants, be careful. Keep all documentation. Don’t let them take advantage of you.

Creative Housing has been managing a rental house for us, For four years now. Their vetting process for finding faithful renters was very successful. Our renters have been there for four years and I’ve been faithful tenants. Creative Housing has done an excellent job of taking care of our property for us while we have Temporarily lived overseas. Keep up the awesome work

If I could give Creative Housing zero stars, I would. The level of service, communication and professionalism is appalling. We had been renting from Creative Housing for over a decade before we were sent a certified letter to vacate the property in 30 days as the owner of the home had apparently instructed my family to move out. When we tried to talk to Creative Housing, we were met with confrontational/hostile behavior. I was even hung up on by the owner, Barbie, when all I wanted to do was get more clarity on the letter we received to move out. We went into the office multiple times to try to come to a resolution, however, we constantly had to leave messages, which were hardly returned. If they were returned, Creative Housing would just send us an email or text message saying we would not be granted an extension and had to move out, no exceptions. I find it appalling that after renting from Creative Housing for 10+ years and having never missed a payment, we were treated this way. Luckily, we were able to get the issue resolved as we went straight to the owner, who we had a great relationship with. The owner never instructed Creative Housing to have us move out, so the letter my family received was factually incorrect. The owner of the home was able to get this issue resolved with Creative Housing, however it should have never gotten to that point.

It's also a miracle if you call and get in touch with someone - they rarely answer their phone. I do not recommend Creative Housing.

UPDATE 4.1.2024 - In response to the owner of Creative Housing's response:

The only reason the issue was resolved was because we knew the owner of the home and had a great relationship with him. The fact is that Creative Housing sent my family a letter that was factually incorrect and if it was not for our great relationship with the owner, my family would have been kicked out of the home. It should not have gotten to the point of us having to ask the owner of the home to intervene and have a direct conversation with Barbie to resolve the issue. I still do not recommend Creative Housing and would give them zero stars if I could.

Barbie and the staff are exceptionally pleasant and nice to speak with. They have been helpful and always pleasant when I have any questions. I thank them for everything and appreciate their acknowledging my military and current law enforcement service. They should be commended on their commitment to the homeowners interest, as well as communication with the tenants

We rented a brand new house in greer for three years and Barbie was so kind and the staff at creative housing made sure if we had a problem it was fixed promptly. We started a family in this house and every moment was cherished! It was time for us to move back to the coast in NC and they made it very easy with giving our 30 day notice! So if your looking for your next rental property or to buy a home call Barbie at creative housing!!

Have leased a home from Barbie at Creative Housing for many years. The office has a special phone line to call and leave message if you have a problem. I always got a return call or text letting me know what was going on. A repair man always called the same day to make an appointment. They showed up on time and completed what ever had to be done. This is a great example of how a well run management team works! The team at Creative Housing have good solid contractors who are dependable. Barbie and her team have been a pleasure to work with!

My family and I have been living in one of their properties for over a year now while waiting for our new build to be completed. The experience has been 100% stress free. The only issue we've had was a stove that quit working. They had a new one installed, and the old one removed within 3 days from mentioning it to them. They also have been extremely flexible with us on our move out date concerning the closing process. We've had the pleasure of working with Barbie directly the entire time. I couldn't be happier and would recommend Barbie and Creative Housing to anyone!
