Charlestown breachway has been our beach and fishing spot for the last 4 years, we love the beach it’s always super clean, during summer they take care of it more but it’s a beautiful beach, lots of space and wonderful views, don’t hesitate to come, you can’t grill and do other things like in a state park, but if you like the beach, sand and walking this is the place mostly for fishing! take care of Charlestown breachway it’s a paradise that deserves love and respect.

Beautiful beach, lots of fishing spots, not to crowded this time of year. However the parking lot is small and fills up fast. Views of Block island from the shore. Waves but nothing crazy.
Definitely worth going if you get the chance.

I would rate this a zero if I could. We looked at pictures and booked our camping site right on the water. So excited. We drove 5 or more hours to get there. We were trying to get details about check in and their phone number was disconnected. Their website link on the reservation was page not found. So we kept heading there. Finally arrived at 7:00 pm exhausted and ready to get situated and they said we couldn’t camp there. Even though we have a water tank, grey water and a cassette toilet we are not allowed to stay there. You must have a list of items and you camper can’t have an expansion opening. Nothing that was shown in the know before you go. So they sent us away with no place to go. Now we have to do all these things to get our money back and we ended up having to spending $300 on a hotel close by since we couldn’t find a place to go. Worst part is we were only there one night so we were leaving in the morning. They couldn’t even let us stay the night. Go somewhere else. Don’t come here.

This was a first visit for me. It's a very beautiful place. Walking on the beach is breathtaking. You can see Block Island from the shore.
I collected some sand and shells.
It was a great visit, I hope to go back one day.💜

The only thing that makes this campground is the location. Sitting in a dusty parking lot 10ft from your neighbors is no fun , especially when generators are running. Generator off time is 800 pm . Portable toilets are always full . Dry camping at its finest….

We attempted to walk from East Beach in Charlestown Rhode Island to the Charlestown Breachway. Because of the impending storm we turned back after we walked a couple miles of the 3-mile Walk. We made it a point to drive to the Charleston Breachway and were surprised at the amount of time it took. It was a thrilling experience because of the impending summer storm. We saw where a recent storm caused erosion to the beach and destroyed part of the jetty. The jetty will need to be rebuilt as it serves to funnel water from the Atlantic Ocean into the Ninigret Salt Pond in Charlestown Rhode Island.
