The trail starts at a large parking lot. The first part is steep and washed out but once you get to the creek it is pretty flat. It can be muddy after rain, although if it hasn't rained the waterfall is very small. We've brought watershoes and swimsuits for the kids on the summer. It's never very busy.

Really nice area, have plenty of parking and not hard to find. Trail was wide. There were areas where we had to maneuver around because of water. Whether it was puddles or saturated dirt and rocks. From the parking lot you go down the hill and you come to a tea intersection. We went to the right along the river and walked all the way to where they had little bit of falls and rapid areas. It was a nice place to stop and just enjoy The view, take pictures. Very enjoyable Trail not hard at all.

Beautiful place to see some modest rapids! Easy hike for this non-hiking lady, lol. Took my husband and dogs and had a really nice time! From the parking lot there is a fairly steep path down that is a bit broken up and washed out in areas, so sturdy tennis shoes/hiking boots are helpful. Otherwise the path is flat and shaded after that. Thought there were waterfalls, but we didn't see any, lol. Great spot to easily walk out on rocks and/or hang out. Sign says there are ruins, but didn't see those. Perhaps they are further than we went? We were happy with the adventure we had! Enjoy!

It was ok, seemed mostly like a service road that ran along the creek, several trees down that you had to duck under. The "waterfall" was really just some rapids amongst the rocks in the river. Out and back took us about an hour at a leisurely pace.

Short trail but worth the visit. Trail is built on an old railroad bed. Obviously there’s no sign of the railroad now. It runs alongside Rocky Creek and has a waterfall after a heavy rain. There are a lot of geological features in the creek that form rapids when the water is high.

I've walked this trail probably 50 times in the last 3 years. Easy 3 miles or so. Park in the field, walk down the paved path to the trail. There are essentially 3 parts: (1) the beach when you first arrive; (2) the waterfall to the left; and (3) the rapids to the right. KEY NOTE: When you head to the right, you will eventually reach a gate across the trail and a fence that runs parallel to the trail. The fence is electrified, the gate is not. You can open the door on the gate and go through. The gate just delineates where some private property starts but you are allowed to walk on that property. That is where the rapids are. Very wide spot in the trail so no danger of touching the electric fence unless you lack all motor skills in which case walking easy trails is not for you. Great spot for a picnic and getting out on the creek on the stones. Waterfall is the left portion of the trail. Short walk. You will come upon a small bridge on your left across a creek. Disregard it and head up the left fork of the trail to the waterfall. I have occasionally seen snakes there so keep your eyes open. You can also walk to the top of the waterfall pretty easily. There's a trail on the left side before you get to the waterfall you have to look for but I've seen people walking up the hill on the right side that is probably more obvious. Overall, trail can be muddy or underwater in spots after heavy rain. Makes for a better waterfall and rapids but bring some waterproof shoes/boots after hard rains. Lightly used and underrated trail. I was there on a Sunday at 9 a.m. and had the place to myself. Also note that as with most trails there are no amenities or staff. Just a field to park in and a trail. UPDATE: Went a couple of weeks ago (Oct 2021) and the waterfall was a trickle (weakest I've seen it) and the creek was way down meaning rapids were also way down. That portion of the state and northwards towards Charlotte are abnormally dry for this time of year. Still a pretty walk but I don't want anybody to think that trickle is what we've been calling a waterfall.)

A nice and easy walk along a creek on a fairly decent path. There were a few muddy rutted out sections but we're easily avoidable. Turning right takes you to the mill ruins and rapids and turning left takes you to a surprisingly impressive waterfall.
