I am a little surprised at the negative reviews as my experience was different.

I contacted Ethan about a apartment and he was able to meet me the next day. He arrived on time and was perfectly pleasant, he showed me 2 units, toured the building, pointed out the features, etc. he was professional and helpful. The property was well maintained and completely renovated.

I ended up leasing one that same day. Ethan moved quickly to complete my application and approve me. I appreciated this since I had 2 weeks to find a place and move in :(.

Once I contacted the property manager (Justine) she was professional, friendly and fast in getting me setup with my lease. I was also impressed with her in-depth knowledge of the lease verbiage and answering my questions.

All in all I enjoyed my experience and would not discount Canfield or their team. They did a solid job.

By far the most unprofessional management company I've ever dealt with. Finds every way to dishonestly neglect and cheat their clients while lining their own pockets. Stay away from any buildings they manage.

In just one year, they oversaw a building where I:
- was cheated out of a leasing special amounting to thousands of dollars
- was assaulted by an unruly neighbor
- had thousands of dollars in packages stolen from me
- accidentally had my car towed
- had numerous work and service requests ignored
- encountered numerous shortcuts taken in build quality throughout the building, at the expense of residents
- witnessed numerous security concerns, including people breaking into the building and stealing

Nearly all of the above was never addressed. A freaking dude OD-ed and died in my building in the first year. Seriously, don't ever live in their buildings; you'll be in hell.

canfield development is a scam of a company and also has racist people working in their leasing offices. Ethan, Kaila and Yoana all work together in keeping out the black community from their properties. After weeks of being given a run around, requesting IRS documents (for an apartment cmon people!) and our application being “processing” we were told the unit was unavailable due to an internal transfer. Now a week later, Ethan is still showing the unit to inquiring people? With having excellent credit, income 3x more than the rent & IRS documents to back it up - they simply had no reason to deny the application and created a lie in which Ethan, Kaila and Yoana we’re all in on. PATHETIC

Overall this place sucks. Can’t keep tenants. Security is horrid. Mail is lost, cars are broken into. Management is non existent after you sign the lease.

They denied rental to a homeless disabled American veteran with 3 children who is currently living in a motel, even after offering 2 months worth of rent upon move in.
