I was looking to view one of their units and they text messaged me from a random number and insisted that I forward a copy of my Drivers License via text or email and didn't have a secure link. I asked if they had a secure link or if I could bring the ID somewhere in person to verify their legitimacy, they said since I wouldn't send the ID over text or email they couldn't show the condo due to safety concerns. Watch out for SCAMS and companies trying to solicit your information through unsecure methods. Disappointing and totally unprofessional.

Thank you for your prompt response to my report of ceiling leaks in my kitchen and dining room. I really appreciate that you sent a licensed plumber (versus a handyman) who was able to quickly find the source of the leaks and make the necessary repairs. It's so nice to finally have an experienced and professional management company handling our apartment building.

The whole process from looking for an apartment on their website, making an initial contact, applying, getting approved, moving in, and settling in was very straightforward and quick. Of course, I had to get all my ducks in a row first like an acceptable credit score, reliable references, financial and identity documentation, and $ for an application fee, a security deposit, and the first month rent. Yes, they do criminal background checks, too.

From when I seriously focused on this rental, paid the $35 application fee until I finally moved in, it took less than two weeks.

Their website has all the information for potential renters, later as tenants to move in, and to give a 30-day notice and move out.

Jess and her hard-working California Oaks Property Management team made my move super smooth and seamless. Owners Mike and Loretta were also there to cheerfully greet and warmly welcome me to their rental property. Everyone was respectful, responsive, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

This Ojai property is well maintained. The garden is beautiful and bountiful with fruit trees, plants, flowers, and herbs. On top of these, the tenants at Summer Oaks clean up after themselves. Every time I open the dryer doors in the shared laundry room, there's no dryer lint!

Been with California Oaks since 2019. Never really had any complaints. Whenever maintenance was needed, they were on it. Staff is friendly on the phone and in the office. Only thing I don’t like is now paying rent online charges you a service fee. I now pay rent by check every month. Service fees can add up! Overall, been satisfied with this property management company.
