Brooke said it to me herself: “If you need anything, call me. You know I’m ten yards deep.” Meaning of course that she is deeply networked with home inspectors, septic inspectors, community organizations, energy auditors, and anyone else a new or prospective home buyer might need. I saw firsthand her good relationship with the home inspector—and heard firsthand from his wife and business partner how well-respected and “fantastic!” Brooke is. I was introduced to Brooke Depot by my mortgage broker who described her as “kind and friendly---and an absolute pit bull when it comes to negotiating in your interest.” Quietly, without making a big fuss, Brooke evaluated every detail of the house I wanted to buy, literally from the mortar work at the top of the chimney to the stones in the foundation; the health of the trees in the yard to the status of the windows in the shed. I had already fallen in love with the house but I was able to rely on Brooke to keep me rational with her honesty about problems that might arise and what, therefore, a reasonable offer would be. From getting my offer accepted to negotiating a credit for some foundation work and helping me arrange to buy some of the furnishings in the home, Brooke made me feel safe and secure in undertaking the purchase. I was lucky enough to buy the first and only home I looked at, but even with this very tight housing market, I trust Brooke to be able to find a wonderful house for my daughter who has just started her own search for a home of her own.
