Didn't do the greatest job in managing my rental (told me the renter destroyed my walls with anchors and such, but when I asked them to cover the repairs with the deposit, she didn't want to and told the renters that I was somehow being unfair...what the?). But Susan did a GREAT job selling my home - so extra stars for that!

Renters beware. If owners of property come to inspect and don’t like what they see when they look you in the face, you might be asked to move during the holiday season. Good thing is you do get 30 days. You’d think that after you’ve spent over $50,000 living at a property that you’d be treated with decency. And please don’t ever call and question anything like the rent going up, they get defensive and then start doing petty things like disregarding maintenance requests. One thing about God, he sits high and looks low. Although we had to move suddenly we ended up with much better landlords and a better kept property with rent to own options. You may not be as lucky!!!!!! You’ve been WARNED! And please in response to your reply, that’s the least y’all could do after falsely putting an eviction on my credit in 2020 after we lived there until 2 whole years after that. Then had an attitude when I called and asked about it. Better be glad the clerk of court removed it because I was going to sue the shingles off that building!

BEWARE MILITARY TENANTS.
This company and my HOA combined have to be the LEAST friendly towards the military here. Berkshire has been inconsistent and near negligent when it came to updating our lease. There's deployed tenants who gave their notice one way, and I submit my own while I'm still at the house, and they do not respond in a clear manner HOW they STILL chose to put us under a monthly lease. We all gave notice we wanted the YEAR term.
We have someone who PCS'd to an overseas base now and still gets messages even though I explicitly made contact to cut our lease and tell them they MOVED.
Our plain backyard is getting cut, and we get notified(not from the domestic tenants, the OVERSEAS former) about a humongous bill that handled our GRASS for $800. The property in foxcroft is NOT extraordinary. It has hardly any shrubs. It has a very plain grass backyard up to the fence lines from our former neighbors that has been cut. Excluding trees that are right NEXT TO TRAIN TRACKS.
Their emailing system is not the best nor reliable. Two out of three tenants never getting word back. Their first method is email it seems. I have yet to get calls personally from them, rather than initiating the phone call myself to find somethings wrong that I haven't been told about. We were always working long hours and crazy weeks, a voicemail would suffice.

I’ve rented and owned with this company and they’ve been most helpful. The maintenance at times takes awhile to get out to the house, but I understand I’m not the only customer. Charles Edens helped me with the purchase of my home and he was nothing short of amazing. He was very honest, open, and transparent which increased my confidence in him as well as the company he was representing. I’ve since moved and Sherry has been helping me with the property managing piece so definitely looking forward to a fruitful relationship.

Avoid doing any business with John M. Brabham Real Estate. I had them managing a rental property of mine, they were not only rude and unprofessional to me but my tenants as well. They acted as though they were doing me a favor when I asked them to do anything. They were very slow and sometimes completely unresponsive in taking care of tenant complaints/issues and were responsible for unhappy tenants terminating leases early and sometimes skipping out on paying rent leaving my house in shambles. They are slow to answer emails, sometimes taking 3 or 4 days to respond and they do not keep you informed of property issues. I elevated concerns to senior management without ever receiving responses. Agnes Edwards is only there to collect a pay check and and could care less about you as a property owner or renter. She does as little as possible to satisfy the customers. When I requested property maintenance records she told me to look at my monthly billing statements (which only lists costs for maintenance/repairs and does not indicate actual repair). I was appalled at such a response, I pay 10 percent commission to manage my property and I am told (via email) to look at my monthly statement, they have no idea how a customer should be treated. I finally fired them and have found another company that has done a remarkable managing my property. Bottom line: Stay clear of Prudential John M. Brabham Real Estate. They do not have your best interest in mind--home owner or tenant

Jo Anne Littleton did an outstanding job as our realtor, and I highly recommend her to sell your home. We live out of state and decided to sell our rental home in Sumter, SC. Due to her attention to detail and aggressive marketing, Jo Anne was able to get an offer on the home within one week of listing it. Prior to closing she coordinated all required repairs, house-cleaning and sent us all necessary documents early.

When we moved away from South Carolina, we listed our house for sale with an agent at another local company. After 7 months and some not-so-great experiences we had to put it up for rent. After that time was up we decided to switch companies and list our house with Jo Anne Littleton. Katharine Rauch is wonderful! As a first-time home buyer I was very nervous about the whole process of buying a house, but Katharine looked out for me time and time again, answering every question patiently and working tirelessly to make sure I found the home of my dreams. She repeatedly gave me great advice without being at all pushy. Though I know she was busy, she gave her time generously and made me feel like a priority. She listened closely to my concerns and did a great job of matching possible houses with my wish list.

I am recommending Katharine to everyone I know. She is a wonderful person and an outstanding professional. I couldn't ask for a better experience than I had with Katharine and Berkshire Hathaway.

Update: Four years ago, Katherine helped me to buy my house, and this time she helped me to sell it. She was just as wonderful as I remembered, giving me excellent advice on staging my home, and it ultimately sold at a great price and sooner than I had thought. She constantly looked out for my interests. I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.
