I was introduced to Alexander Hall via Foxtons, the estate agent who were managing the property I was looking to purchase.

I'd never done anything like this before, but Alexander Hall made the whole process (checking affordability, finding mortgage quotes, and understanding what I was getting into with the contracts) extremely easy.

Nicolas was my main point of contact, and did an outstanding job. He was always quick to respond, and made it clear that I wasn't expected to know everything. Even if I had a question outside of office hours, Nicolas made sure to acknowledge that he'd received the question.

Nicolas explained every mortgage option in detail and, based on the affordability calculations we discussed together, would always provide me with multiple repayment options (25 years, 30 years, 35 years, etc.) to allow me to have the final say.

There was one slight hiccup along the way: the solicitor I had gone with (on Alexander Hall's recommendation) had to discontinue my case due to "recent changes in regulations by way of the Building Safety Act 2022," which did cause quite a delay. Despite that, Nicolas was genuinely apologetic and, whilst unable to recommend another solicitor, was still extremely helpful in suggesting who to look for.

I also accepted some insurance policies recommended early in the process (life, work, and contents), but changed my mind and asked to cancel the policy shortly after it had been issued. Although it must have been frustrating, there was zero pushback from Sam who respected my decision, canceling straight away without any hassle or attempt to upsell.

Due to complications with the new solicitor I'd chosen, my mortgage offer was only two weeks from expiring by the time we finally completed. Although not at all caused by Alexander Hall, I received frequent check-ins from Ishrat within the final month, just to keep me aware of the looming deadline.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Alexander Hall and will definitely be using them again once my mortgage's fixed term ends.
