Enjoyed a quick getaway with my wife and daughter. We loved our stay. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. It was quiet and off the beaten path. |We enjoyed the shops and restaurants around Blue Ridge. We also enjoyed the Scenic Blue Ridge train ride.

I stayed at the Antler Lodge and it was above wonderful! The cabin smelled amazing, was immaculate, and there were so many nice little thoughtful things throughout. They had bath sponges, robes, slippers, chocolates…all the comforts of a luxury hotel while being in a luxurious remote cabin. We’ve already talked about going back with our whole family. Can’t say enough great things about our experience with Above The Rest!!

Everything was exactly like the pictures. Clean, clear directions to the cabin, great communication. The house was even decorated for fall and smelled like it too! The trip was wonderful and we plan to return!!!

We know that when we book with Above the Rest, that everything will be taken care of before our arrival. The cabin was very clean and there were clear instructions. They also leave special touches like bath toiletries and coffee/tea.

Above the Rest Cabins, UNFORTUNATELY, was certainly “more than we bargained for" on our visit 6/24-6/28/2024!||My husband and I originally booked Sunshine in the Pines after consulting with Taylar - the owner of the company - to explicitly question whether we could comfortably access and exit the property. After my husband sent a picture of our 25 foot, Class B Motor home to Taylar, she informed us we would have NO PROBLEM accessing the cabin. At that point we signed the contract, put down the deposit, and paid in full - all in good faith! ||Its family owned vacation cabin rental company’s mission is to make “memorable moments” for their guests and provide “personal attention” … It was certainly memorable!!! Their testament to premier customer service fell gravely short when our original booking for “Sunshine in the Pines” resulted in the most AGONIZING attempt to access the cabin due to the CRATERS in the path and the EXTREMELY STEEP climb with our 24.5 foot, Class B, van. Its steep climb was SO STRESSFUL and HAZARDOUS that we requested a change in cabins. ||Their office manager, Amanda (whom we are eternally grateful), had to assist us in exiting the property (backing up to almost a couple of feet of its steep drop) —-the situation so tense that her towing company contact was on her ‘speed dial’ if we could not successfully get ourselves out of this predicament. Although we managed to exit, our "RV" was damaged in the process as it scraped & dented against the very narrow path of rocks. ||Luckily, Amanda was able to secure another 2 bedroom/2 bath cabin - however, it was significantly smaller and lacked the screened in porch that we had wanted. Because of the change in cabins, we requested a new contract/invoice and reimbursement for the difference. We did not ask for damages - even though the damage was witnessed by their employee at that moment in time. Given Taylor’s MISGUIDANCE and resulting hazardous predicament, we felt that it would only be fair to - at the very least - reimburse us the difference in cost. ||NO GO and NO THANKS to Taylar - who by the way - issued a response to us that her response to our reimbursement request “was keeping her from preparing payroll so that everyone gets paid on time”. Not to mention the fact that the excuse to not reimburse us was attributed to “dynamic pricing” and the fact that the accommodation was “comparable” as a 2 bedroom/2 bath cabin. Yes, it was a 2 bedroom/2 bath, but NOT comparable relative to other features desired reflected in our original pick.||SORRY Taylar … NOT the premier “Customer Service” that would define your “MORE ATTENTION, HIGHER STANDARDS, and AWARD WINNING” oath you profess. It would have been nice to, at least, give us a call to make sure we were OK after that harrowing departure from the initial property.||The only saving grace was Amanda - and the subsequent cabin “Dreamcatcher” managed to fulfill our expectations - mostly because our hearts were not in our mouths accessing/leaving the property!

Absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect romantic getaway for our anniversary. The layout of the cabin is set up just right for a good size family as well. Everything was so clean. This cabin was definitely Above the Rest! It exceeded our expectations! We will absolutely be back soon!

We chose this cabin for our family Thanksgiving gathering because of the large open floor plan. Bedrooms were one up and two down, leaving lots of room on the main floor for us to gather. Kids/one grandkid, (18 to 53 yo), enjoyed the hot tub on the main level screened in porch while us old folks enjoyed sitting on the big front porch or in front of the lovely real wood fireplace on the main level. We did a lot of cooking in the well appointed kitchen and there was seating for 10 people using the two dinning tables available. The weather did not cooperate for a lot of outdoor time, so it was nice to have such a roomy house for the six or us. Two things added that special touch to our stay. First, the hosts for this cabin were super helpful when I showed my lack of Vrbo skills and they were super nice throughout planning and our stay. Second, the property was very clean and well maintained, showing great attention to detail. Our kids enjoyed the trip so much they want to make it an annual event!
