The leadership at the planning department are relics with old ideals and even older ideas. Employees rarely answer calls and return them less often. Their business practices support fraud and unsafe living environments.
The fine charged if builders get caught doing construction without permits and inspections? The cost of getting the permit. Nothing lunatics, so contractors don’t permit or inspect making your hone a hidden hazard.
No need to worry about Supervisor signed abatements hurting you if you sell, those liens are not reported to the assessor. In fact the planning department will forget about it if you do. So it works out for everyone, except the tenant.
Bottom line, policy at the planning department assures more ‘ghost-ship’ disasters in our future. Do not bother complaining, they'll Just belittle you with classy comments like, ‘Why don’t you move’.
If you plan on buying here, have a leading indirection company verify that all work was permitted and passed insoections.
