We are approaching four and one half months in our new home and I am now afforded plenty of perspective on my experience with Dwight Hawkins, and to a lesser degree, with Debbie. Dwight was in our real estate journey for the long haul.
As a neighbor, he is always friendly and engaging--but without the zeal shown by beginning real estate counselors. btw, with the new real estate procedures since August 2024, the term "agent" is now better described as "advisor." Dwight builds trust long before business is in the picture.
When it was time for us to downsize from standalone housing to a simpler HOA fee-based townhome where all exterior tasks are included, we brought Dwight into the business picture. His yard sign used for his listings claim 200% service. This was indeed our experience from a few false starts on our part to multiple pleasant surprises and insightful support provided by Dwight during our sale and purchase process. Early in our packing-to-move process, Dwight gifted us a nearly lifetime supply of moving boxes and packing materials as part of a partnership with a local moving company.
Even beyond the close of escrow and our move-in, Dwight was there to help make certain that we were safe and comfortable. He personally climbed upon a ladder and installed the prerequisite smoke alarms that were missing from our new home.
Dwight put us in contact with a contractor who fixed our new home electrical issues. When we were concluding our move-in, he provided us with a personalized gift--I won't spoil your surprise. A month after move-in he texted us to make certain that we were OK when a brushfire erupted near our new community.
Dwight is a military veteran and highly experience real estate person who has deep roots in the community which include helpful contacts to help one through all the tasks associated with real estate transactions. He is also a veteran real estate advisor at the top of his class. He will guide you through a sometimes bewildering process of emotional ups and downs of the selling and/or buying process. Highly recommended.
