The ice arena has terrible management since Steve MacSwain left. My son went to the high school practice, but was not let on the ice due to COVID from the school he goes to. Even though he was not contacted by the school district as someone who was in contact with anyone who had COVID, he was not afforded the opportunity to skate with the High School...no big deal, the school district has their rules to follow. The issue is that rink management kicked him out of the ice arena. Now, my son had been there at least three times during the weekend (four days earlier) competing in games. He also attended a practice the Monday before the scheduled high school practice. The situation around him and his school were well known by the coaches and it was not an issue for him to be in the ice arena. But, on this day, rink management thought it best to kick him out of the ice arena where he had to wait in below freezing temperatures for someone to come pick him up. Let me remind you...he had no symptoms, was not around anyone with COVID, and he was there on the weekend and Monday and it's Thursday of the same week. I will guarantee that Steve would not have mad my kid or any kid wait outside in below zero weather, especially knowing the entire situation. If a parent made their child stand in below zero weather just because they could, it would be considered child abuse. Steve has only been gone for a little more than a week and I miss him dearly.
