I planned a weekend fishing trip as a birthday surprise for my bf. The booking process was simple and easy. I asked numerous questions, as I was unfamiliar with the area. We arrived and were immediately impressed at the cozy country aesthetics and the fact that the lodge was located 200 ft from the shoreline.

Mark greeted us like an old friend and answered our additional questions, and questions we didn’t even know we had. The room was clean and we felt safe on the property. Although we don’t have young children, we kept saying how this would be a great affordable weekend spot for a family with small children.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate as well as we would have liked, but the owners made our trip amazing despite the weather, and we’ve already made plans for Spring 2022!

Thank you for running a great business, it’s definitely scalable to be something great!

We rented the big cabin 5 that had 4 bedrooms and 2 baths and sleeps 10 for memorial weekend as family overflow up to enjoy our lake lot. It was much more spacious and comfortable than expected from the online pics. I’m giving a 5 because it met and exceeded our expectations for what we wanted/needed...a rustic, spacious, small town cabin experience to enjoy the lake weekend. It is not perfect but it was perfect for what we needed. If you are looking for a high end luxury experience you are in the wrong town at the wrong lake. Centre AL and Lake Weiss is all about country kindness and rustic old buildings. Owner Mark was so nice and working hard to update the resort a little at a time after buying it four years ago. We won’t hesitate to rent again and again as needed for family overflow accommodations. We love Lake Weiss!

I have visited Cowan Creek Resort 3 times this summer, and hope to get in another visit are 2. I just love it, and my friends feel the same way. We've rented a pontoon from them and had a blast out on the lake. The cabins are clean,
comfortable, with every thing you need,and very affordable. The owners are very nice and helpful. I've rented many places on the lake over the past five years, but now that I've found this place, I'm hooked..never could I afford this many trips in one summer, split the cost with a friend are 2, the cheapest vacation you find..

I reserved this “cabin” for the night so my daughters grand daughter could spend quality time together for my birthday. In the pics listed on the website and conformation email there was a full kitchen a beautiful deck and great view of the lake. When I get there it’s basically a one bedroom shack. I spoke with the manager on site and he said that’s what we booked. I told him that was not the same as the picture sent with the conformation email and we would not be staying there. I will still spend quality time with my family but not there. Like I’ve read in other reviews it doesn’t even look safe the stairs looked like they would fall apart. The nicest thing about this place was the office. I would never send anyone to this place.

Been there since May. Johnny is a very nice landlord. The people here are wonderful, friendly, and very helpful. Neighbor's will walk by and say hello and we all watch out for each other. What we like about it is that it's quite and peaceful. Everybody keeps their place cleaned and groomed witch is important to me and my wife. If you're not liked by these people it's all on you because these are some of the nicest people we have ever met and proud to call them friends. There are a few spaces left. Johnny's friend Jim who watches and takes care of the place is a fabulous guy who is kind and thoughtful and is always willing to answer questions and help. Thanks to Clayton and his wife who have been friends for over two decades also have a place there and told us about this wonderful location and has been history ever since. My wife thought I was crazy for doing this, now she can't wait to get there and just relax and enjoy. It's like vacation every weekend. However during the week is just as good and wonderful. Several people live there full time and say life doesn't get better than this... Enjoy , looking forward to seeing you soon..,.

I have no idea where all these 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from, but they do not deliver on what they are selling.
We were sold a comfortable cabin with beautiful views and cleanliness being a “top priority”. This is not what we received.

It smelled musty, like a previous renter or tenant smoked and instead of properly cleaning they just set up a scent mister that loudly sprays every 15 minutes or so.
There were holes in every wall where the door knob has been punched through. When I say hole, I mean a 4 inch round hole, not a dent.
The “fully stocked” kitchen was full of the shells of nuts and dirt in all of the drawers.
Every flat surface was covered in ants when we woke up; including my arms where I was blessed with several bites.
Outside our front door (which didn’t lock and had a giant window with no covering) we had a beautiful view of... nothing. An old boat that could be cute, but was certainly not the lake or Mountain View that was advertised.
There was no WiFi, there was no view, there was little relaxation, and there was no charm.

They may be working to fix it up, but it has a LONG way to go and in the meantime you are expected to pay like it’s already finished. $100/night plus a $25/day cleaning fee is akin to highway robbery for what you receive.

We found this place last minute thru Travelocity.com and was bit worried what it would be like, but turned out to be excellent. The Cabin has 2 bedrooms with 3 queen beds and spacious living room. We were a party of 9 and had wonderful time spent at the cabin, lake and enjoyed the fire works for July 4th. The Owner was good and hardworking. The Kitchen lighting was dull and it was hard to cook at nights otherwise everything else is perfect.

After alot of traveling looking at homes in rural areas I stumbled upon this Gem just searching for a local motel for the night. Let me just say I was beyond shocked! For less than the price of a "Value" motel we stayed in a Beautiful cabin in a gorgeous waterfront community. Owners on site are BEYOND accommodating and kind. The room was very nice and cozy and the sunset was to die for! Thank you for a wonderful stay and I look forward to staying in the future.
