Cute recently painted rooms. Clean and just adorable on the outside! Pet friendly, the didn’t even require a deposit or put a weight limit on our dog.It was quiet, quaint and a very nice stay. They have a deck for guest to use with seating and a grill. We spent an evening out there grilling brats and just enjoying the evening. Wish I would have taken a picture of our room it had beautiful western photos. Our only issue was the pop machine is temperamental but the nice older lady who works there was always available to assist. Oh and no hidden fees it was refreshing to pay just a flat rate with all the taxes included

This place is set up for hunting parties or family groups. Bathrooms are shared, there are several beds in a room and there is a communal kitchen and living room area. Late in the season, my family members had it to themselves and loved it. Very friendly hosts!

The owner was very polite and understanding and the room that we were in was refurbished and was homely. The arm railing was also a added plus, even other guest we met appreciated it. It was very quiet, something that you would to expect from a small town hotel/ motel... bonus is very close to cafes and restaurants and grocery store.

I was really hoping this would be a Mom and Pop motel, a diamond in the rough, the last really good deal in America, and it was. Sort of. This is an old strip motel that has not been updated. It is not handicap accessible. Our room was the corner room of the L-shaped building and had two, or three steps up to the screen door entrance, which opened to a small area at the top of a long staircase to a basement. I worried that my unsteady elderly companion could topple down the stairs, if unbalanced. The room door opened to this same small "foyer." The room itself was fairly spacious, with two double beds, a single bed, and a desk. The ac unit was old and loud, but worked. There was no t.v., or phone. The bathroom was very tiny and cramped and if someone were to fall in the bathroom, with the door closed, the only way to get to them would be to remove the door. It would be difficult for a large person to use the bathroom at all. There was no tub, just a small shower stall, small sink, and toilet, with the sink installed in front of the shower. The room was musty smelling and hot, until we turned on the ac. It would have been nice, if they had turned it on a for a time before our late arrival. The beds were okay and the linens were clean. The towels were all navy blue, which was in contrast to the usual white towels in most hotels and motels. I assumed the color was chosen to disguise stains. Apparently, room service is not included, as the beds were not made and towels not replaced after the first night. I carried out our trash to the dumpster myself, which was an unpleasant task due to the many flies in the parking lot. No doubt the flies were drawn to the smelly chicken coop (with real live chickens!) in the parking lot, just a few steps from our room door. Cleanliness was sketchy. Though the linens and towels were seemingly clean, as well as the bathroom fixtures, crevices in the bathroom looked dirty and the dark brown carpet was grimey, leaving white socks black after walking around the room. Since the door locks seemed not terribly secure, i took advantage of locking the "foyer" screen door at night (other rooms' doors opened to the parking lot). This was okay the first night. The second night, I was awakened by the sound of someone repeatedly and determinedly trying to open the locked screen door, which was very alarming. I called the motel's office, awakening the owner, who said that there was someone staying in the basement and they needed in the screen door. Staying in the basement?!?!? I know other rooms were available. Weird and creepy. We had booked for three nights, but decided not to stay the third and found a better room, closer to our next destination. We did not try to get a refund for the third night. To be fair, the motel is run by a couple with young children, who live there and they were very nice. The quailty of the motel is sorely lacking, but I guess you can't expect much for $45 per night. I would choose somewhere else in, or near Wessington Springs, if ever in the area again.

Had a great stay when pheasant hunting. Clean sheets me rooms. Dog friendly. Frig and microwave. Have own entrance and park right in front. Easy to haul gear in and out. Great Springs Cafe two blocks away. Best local grown beef. Bar and bowling alley across the street

this place was a absolute surprise! while staying here for a week for work, we couldn't find anything nearby and the closest hotel was about twice the price. the owner is new and young but extreamly nice and helpful. the rooms are small but charming and give all the amenities of home. if you ever find yourself looking for a place to stay with in 50 miles this place is definatly worth the drive and value.

Was awoken at 7 am on a saturday by what sounded like a dog being tortured outside our room. This went on for at least an hour. Then around 8 AM while we were still in bed an old man in camo barged into our room without even knocking. My advice, stay somewhere else if you can. if you cant, make sure to lock your door and put earplugs in.
