Still have not receive my deposit back been gone since June no updated contact info online the number that is online is disconnected like why are yall holding people money but quick to put a eviction notice on someone door when the rent not paid this doesnāt make any sense new management should have been on top of this if they are better then the people that was there before

After suffering a year and a half under their tyranny, I am happy to be out of that fire hazard. On top of black mold, insect infestations, broken windows, unsafe environment due to some other tenants, and a faulty HVAC system, we also were forced to endure living with faulty wiring that was, in fact, a fire hazard. Even after sparks flew from an outlet in the unit they still refused to properly address the issue. Maintenance admitted there was an issue with the wiring but management instructed him to come back to us and tell us there was no problem. We werenāt the only tenants that had to call the fire department due to sparks flying out of the outlets and burning the wall. Thereās also two units toward the front of the property burned down so they are aware of the wiring issues, they just choose not to fix it.
We also had to deal with an unusually large energy bill as well. We have rented a home triple the size of the townhouse at Austin Wood and never paid more than $170 to heat and cool it. Thereās no reason it should cost $280 a month the power an 800 sqft unit. Many other tenants also have unusually high electricity bills. Someone seriously needs to audit these units because the electrical system is in need of an overhaul.
All of our tickets were removed from the system without being addressed. We were blocked from creating any written documentation of what was happening. No one in the office would provide us with an email to communicate and the only way to submit maintenance requests was to tell them in the office so they could write it on a post-it note and throw it away. Maintenance always claimed they never received a request. The last time we spoke with the office manager she told us she doesnāt want to deal with us and instructed maintenance not to communicate with us anymore. She told us our only options were to live in those conditions or move. Of course we chose to move. No one deserves to be treated this way.
Please believe the terrible reviews and save yourself and family from heartache and possible medical issues as a result of living here. These people do not care about residents. They only see money. They lie to get you in and then theyāll ignore you for the remainder of your stay. They are whatās wrong with humanity. Oh and please know, the renovated units are NOT renovated. They are just painted with new carpet to give the appearance of being renovated. You will just inherit the problems of the previous tenants that fled this place. You have been warned.

Pests, leaks, and holes in the ceiling, as well as fire alarms/smoke detectors going off all hours of the night, The last couple of months have been hard for me and my children. The smoke detector goes off at all hours of the nightānot just a beating sound but a siren, and it's loud. You can hear it from outside! The dining room ceiling leaks when we shower, and their methods of fixing it were to cut a hole in my ceiling to expose us to possible mold and other toxic materials in the ceiling due to a long-term leak that nobody came to look at until the ceiling started caving in. Which is not healthy for me because I have an autoimmune disease and my son keeps catching pneumonia. We also pay for trash, but the trash is always full. They wonder why we have pests. With all of this that is going on in my unit and my neighbor's units, it makes me question: are they even about my family or just my money? I asked to move but was denied by the property manager. when I actually moved here in December 2021 and wanted to move out in December 2023 but was denied due to a lack of knowledge on my part. Back story: After a year of being here, I went to the leasing office to renew my lease, but due to new management, they were behind on renewal, and I ended up signing a new lease in July 2023 instead of December. They never backdated it, so now I am living under these conditions until July. Even though technically I have been here for 2 years and I was on a year-to-year lease, apparently new people brought them just recently, and they are no longer Oreliving. I have seen so much change in that office in the span of two years that I don't even believe things will change.

I moved from Ohio to Columbia South Carolina in Austinwood When I view the apartment they were still working on the unit I was going to move in so I assumed that everything would be up to par on my move in date a month later. NOT!! I had to move in with roaches!!! Dirty inside they painted the tub and sinks with regular wall paint!! Ask me to leave after driving 8 straight hours from Ohio at night till morning no where to go to fog the apartment with dollar tree foggers!!! Came back hours later to all the cans still laying there!! Itās VERY Hood!! Loud music EVERY NIGHT!! No maintenance! They hire some next week theyāre gone!! Pot holes and water pipes busted in parking lot I stayed there for 6 months on section 8 Section 8 Thank God got me out of the lease because they continue to fail inspection come to find out I was told they showed him a completely different apartment because I didnāt know how it passed inspection before I moved in. Show them these pictures that I will share with you guys and the reason why Iām just now doing this review is cause Iāve been trying to be patient with the new management to get my security deposit, which was over 800.00 dollars!! And I only had 2 things they could charge me for and that was the holes in the walls were my TVs where and a small hole my heel of my foot went on the night before I was moving out because the neighbors were loud and I had to work in the am! So why itās been 3 months and I still havenāt received NOT 1 penny of my security deposit back!! I literally felt the apartment cleaner then it was when I moved in!!! Oh and their were roaches in my refrigerator 2!!! I cried that day right in front of Valencia who was amazing towards me but she felt BAD and was Speechless!!! And looked like she wanted to cry with me!!! PLEASE NEW OWNERS OF AUSTINWOODS APARTMENTS!!!! Can I GET MY SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK!! I do deserve it!! All the hell Iāve been through then had to move on top of that after only being there 6 months!! If not Iām starting to talk with a lawyer and section 8 is backing everything up 2!! PLEASE PLEASE DONT RENT THERE!!! Oh and I heard they went up on rent 2!!! Like in the 1,000.00 range now !!! Crazy as hell

My wife and I had an 8:30 appointment to have a "tour" of a studio apartment with our Daughter, Rebecca, here THIS MORNING. Penny and I drove from Sumter ...... to Columbia, leaving just before 7am. We got here around 8:15........and found that the Leasing Office didn't open until 9am. At 9:05 the Office door was still locked....so we called them, and THEN.....the lady who opened the door, told us that they DON'T do tours; and that the Virtual tours are online.
Wellllll......we told her that there are NO Virtual Tours of the Studio Apartments........and she told us that the Leasing Lady was OFF today!!!
I guess that THEIR World STOPS
.....when the Leasing Lady is NOT there!!!!!!!!! You may want to RECONSIDER your choice IF you are thinking of moving HERE!!!! Their "Don't-Care" attitude told US everything that we needed to know about Austin Woods Apartments........

Iām livid at the fact that Iāve been begging these people to fix my ac unit. I was told to be patient but I have asthma and living in this severe heat with no air is very dangerous to me. The trash has been sitting in the dump for weeks. When a man finally came to fix my air after months of waiting he said that it needed a new part but heād only been on the job for 3 days so he didnāt know how everything worked in regards to ordering a new part, either way I havenāt gotten any information since thenā¦.. UPDATE: itās has been a full year later and STILL NO AIR. They came to fix it and come to find out all it needed was some coolant, that fixed it for one day and then it caused a leak and stopped working. They were on the news for this because over 30 residents reported not having ac. They keep raising the price on everything and are so ready to evict people but they donāt want to fix anything. These people are slum lords. I am now pregnant with asthma and I donāt know Iām going to make it another summer with no air. Among the many other things that needed to be fixed they took down the portal we used to report everything so when I went to the office around February or March to tell them what all I needed fixed I was going down the list with one woman and when I got to the air another woman jumped in and said that ac was not a priority because it wasnāt summer time, I said but I didnāt have it last summer and why wait until it gets hot to try to fix it and with how unpredictable South Carolina weather is you never know when it will be hot so itās best to be prepared but they donāt think like that. And my AC still doesnāt work as of July 2nd 2024. So thatās 2 years in a row with no working air. After I submitted my list they came to fix 2 things which were the light in my kitchen that wouldnāt come on and . They have been working on the water outside and my ceiling collapsed from water damage. And reaching out to them does absolutely nothing Iāve already voiced my concerns MULTIPLE TIMES. And then they want to have donut and icee parties like ICE my dang apartment. Thatās not going to improve tenant/landlord relations. Save that and fix our issues we do not care about donuts and floats.

Valencia, the maintenance man Tony and Samantha broke into my apartment and STOLE ALL OF ME AND MY FAMILY BELONGINGS.
From our clothes to the tires to my husbandās car.
Valencia WAS a family friend that has ATE at my table in my once home. She initiated the break in, they drilled my lock off because they didnāt have a spare key. Packed ALL of our things into bags and basket and put them in their cars and truck. Valencia then called my sister and told her what they had done (HOW STUPID) after letting them know I had them on camera, they brought back what they WANTED to give me back. I want them all prosecuted to the FULLEST EXTENT. They STOLE everything from me and my family. Clothes, Shoes, My furniture and household decorations, Electronics, Bikes, Wine Bar, Even down to my SOAP TISSUE AND LAUNDRY DETERGENT. Very SAD how you think you can trust the people in the office when theyāre the MAIN CROCKS !!
I have RECORDED CONVERSATIONS of Samantha admitting what they did and me telling her I am pursuing charges. Tony quit after returning my husbandās tired and Valencia locked herself in the office. She stole all my things along with Samantha and the call she made to my sister informing her of what they did is below.
YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.
You will be prosecuted and should be FIRED. Legal charges are being pressed against you all and the company.
