Great build process for the Mungo Homes. I actually worked with the Mungo reps directly and never felt like I was being deceived or misled. I did make one mistake in my initial agreement, which was resolved at the design center. Mungo produces homes that are clearly above that of the larger builders. My home was in their middle-tier, and thus is somewhat bland on the sides of the house, as there are no extrusions or inclusions on the side of the building. That being said, the rest of the home is beautiful and my friends and family are all gushing. I will be too once the hard work of moving in is done. Due note, Mungo gives you lots and lots of options, but is still dictating the process. Mungo takes the lead in the dance, so to speak. Still, you're getting a beautiful home out of it, so it's worth the back and forth and the wait. Go Mungo.

Where to start? In the beginning, things were great. Our agent, builder, and the selections agent we’re all wonderful. They were helpful, answered all the questions we had, and made the process really smooth.
It wasn’t until after closing that things took a nosedive. After moving in we found that things that we had picked during the planning stage were not installed. We had a leaky roof from an improperly installed gutter, another leak caused by a bad HVAC installation, another leak that has yet to be diagnosed. Improperly installed sink components. Vinyl siding falling down. Grout in the shower falling out. A mysterious fluttering sound coming from one of the ceiling vents. I’m not sure how reasonable it is to expect better, but weeds had overtaken the yard before we closed.
All of this, aside from the yard, is being taken care of by the warranty thankfully. Even that has its problems though. Work is slow, communication is even slower at times. The repair work sometimes causes more problems to be fixed, or cleaned up.
The people we have worked with to resolve this, seem like they are genuinely enthusiastic about helping us get everything resolved. However, the process feels disorganized and disjointed. Trying to schedule repairs around our life / work schedule is no easy task for them or for us. Trying to nail down when people will be there on site to work has been a source of frustration.
With all of this, we couldn’t in good faith recommend Mungo.

I had an excellent experience with Mungo. Since my husband and I were not in the local area during the construction of our home, we couldn’t attend meetings in person. However, our builder, Doug, went above and beyond by FaceTiming us, ensuring we remained involved in the process. While our realtor attended on our behalf, we truly appreciated the effort to keep us engaged. The communication was outstanding, and I highly recommend Mungo.

We built a mungo home in Lexington SC November 2023 and when it came time for our 11 month warranty inspection, the area between our homes was promised to be fixed by Allen due to standing water and we were told the landscaper was coming up with a plan to fix it and was even notated in our initial closing inspection. They are refusing to fix it and although I have made numerous calls and left messages to corporate regarding this, I have yet to receive a call back. This area continues to be washed out.
The new warranty supervisor Brian stated it was our problem and even went so far as to tell our neighbor that we refused their remedy, which was a total lie. There was no remedy offered. Brian was very rude and unprofessional to my husband. I will not recommend another person to build via mungo due to this.

Buyer beware Mungo Homes.

Before considering purchasing a two level home from Mungo. They DO NOT insulate the upper front and side of garage properly. We were unaware of this because the house was completely built before we purchased it. If we had known we would have not purchased from Mungo.

Bedrooms in these locations will approximately temp 10 degrees lower in the winter and 10 degrees higher in the summer. This only happens when you keep your bedroom doors closed. This would also make air and heat work harder due to cooling and heating loss.

We had contacted Mungo and they pretty much told us that it’s our problem and they follow building code.

We have a list of issues yet to address with Mungo. A list that were already addressed our air conditioner twice, roof shingles, dishwasher and door knob’s. I wish We did more research before purchasing from them.

We purchased from Mungo with the confidence in their quality until we closed and moved in and saw their workmanship and products they use. Being that we purchased this home for almost $300,000 we hope it will last years to come. We work very hard to own a house.

Please do your homework before purchasing a new home with any builder and ask plenty of questions.
